why do i have 1000 hours on a game where theres nothing to do? dont ask me

forgot to leave a review but here we go- long story short, this is one of my favorite metroidvanias i've played
exploration peaks here, the art is beautiful and i liked the combat a lot
the crest/tool system is genius and i loved making builds, it's something the game definitely does better than the original HK.
Imo the story is actually weaker than the original hollow knight but it's still very good and had me excited to keep playing, and i'm hoping the incoming dlc expands more on the lore of pharloom along with things to do in the lategame- i'll prolly update my review when that happens. also i hate bilewater

longterm AC fan- yeah this series is dead for me.
this game is terribly optimized and is a whopping 127 gb, has terrible story pacing and inexplainably bad writing after act 1, extremely poorly made combat with zero satisfying visual feedback for doing anything, one of the worst stealth systems i’ve seen in assassins creed history, clunky controls that constantly have you going against the game instead of your enemies, a horrible objective system that won’t tell you where anything actually is, and you do nothing but bandit beating and fetching items while ubisoft constantly tries to get you to buy their limited anime collab bundles and battlepasses that plague the game's menu screens.

i just feel bad for all of the ubisoft employees more than anything else when playing this because you can tell they actually are talented but they’re in the coal mines working on the new yearly assassins creed that will release undercooked and try to price you for $70 and then sell you microtransactions for a game that isn’t even remotely good due to how rushed a yearly release schedule is bound to be. ubisoft is a joke and i hope that the embarrassment of clair obscur sweeping the game awards (directed by an ex ubisoft employee) convinces other talented employees to quit so their creative ambitions aren’t held back by corporate greed.
atleast the music’s like, pretty good. hopefully that composer quits ubisoft too so he can make something for an actually decent game.

honestly just a wonderful game that was fun to complete 100%
medal builds in this game are insanely fun, i reccommend you pick all medals if you plan to pick this game up
kabbu is the goat i love him

very very fun game, i reccommend buying it even though i got it for free
it's basically the next step forward in terms of social deception games

villain protagonist

lyn is my undisputed goat and its not even close

amazing ost and art with really fun gameplay to boot
i enjoyed the team building aspect of this game a lot
one thing to note about this game is that even as a roguelite, it is very story-based and i reccomend you take this into account before you purchase the game
i personally LOVED the story though, and it's actually one of the strongest parts of this game imo
especially that ending... no spoilers though

even after all of the times that bimini has nearly wiped my party i still cannot bring myself to stop using her
