A really well done little incremental game, first run is fun, tenth run is fun. Ascension style upgrades all feel really impactful.
Did encounter a bit of a game breaking bug right before getting all the achievements that stops me from being able to get the last few where the button to control spawns and powers disappeared, so beware that could be a thing.

A good little game, mechanics are fun and it's engaging throughout the runs you have to do for completion.

The 100% on steam is incredibly grindy and has an RNG achievement, which has convinced me the probablilities are lying to me, but that's only if you're going for perfection there's a downside.

Obvious to see why it won so many awards, everything in this game is incredible. Music, environment design, character design, dialogue, VA, story, battle systems are all wonderful and come together to create an amazing game. Cannot recommend enough, don't listen to the hate because anyone hating this hasn't played it or is rage baiting, nobody can hate Esquie or the gestrals.

A masterpiece of a game that seems determined to make you not like it at some parts. Despite all the frustrating elements and difficult opening hours of the game, sticking with it is truly worth it in the end.

Overall a solid recommend, but with small problems.
The gameplay loop is fun, managing your resources and alters is engaging the whole time. The 'enemies' are simple yet a persistent and real threat to progress and it always feels like you need to be managing your time and resources well. The alters are all very good, with their own personalities, trials and solutions to different problems you face along the way. You can't get them all at once so maybe not for the perfectionists out there, this game is about making the best of bad situations.
The game starts to show some cracks in the final third, with visual bugs happening often like a large structure not materialising while it was being described by the characters, subtitles being incorrect and alters being in the wrong place or saying the wrong line along with a few crashes. Nothing game breakingly awful, but clearly lacking some final tlc.

It's a DOOM game, you like DOOM? you get DOOM, but maybe wait for a sale.

That being said, this one comes in at my least favourite of the modern games. Lots of spectacle, but plenty of combat bugs and dying to things off screen all the time on nightmare difficulty. Lots of gameplay decisions that are either a downgrade from Eternal or a little annoying but add up to a less fun experience than Eternal or DOOM 2016. Also short, with 100% campaign completion coming to 23 hours.

I did 100% of things you can do in this game and it was an amazing 70 hours. It was a classic back in 1999 and it's a classic now. Sure it's wierd, sure sometimes it doesn't make sense, sure you can break the game 2 hours into it by playing the best mini game in the whole series and that makes it great.

You think it's good, then you realise it's REALLY good, then you realise that this is something special. Get it, stick with it, see it through to the end.
