It's weird. I tried to put some structure in my mind about pros and cons, but I got to a conclusion that everything I like about this game also has something I don't really like that much.
For example, combat - it's fast, it looks great, but it feels clunky, especially at first. Stamina system makes it so you have to be careful about how you engage or you're risking to find yourself in this awkward position when you're just staring at the enemies for a several seconds. It gets better once you get a grasp on the overall flow of the combat and get some powerups, but it still could be a drag for a while. I can't even say that it's bad in it's core, more like uncomfortable at times.
Overall artistic design and music are solid, if a bit generic. Retrowave does get tiresome after a while (maybe it's just me). The only real problem I have with it is the fact that important stuff on the map (pickups, lore, interactables) are not always easily readable and you can miss them if you don't pay attention.
I didn't get a full grasp on progression system, but it seems fine enough. Same goes for map design.
They both gave me a couple of "HUH?!" moments, but nothing major. At least I didn't feel the need to google the wiki asap.

tl:dr The game is interecting enough and I have a feeling that I'm gonna play it some more later

p.s. do yourself a favor and don't use the first sword, just switch it to the second as soon as you get to it. You'll thank me later

This review will stay negative as long as there's no way to turn on english.
I mean, come on Ubisoft, this game is basically free now, so what's the point?

So at release after two games servers went down.
I desided to play some DbD. And it was awesome.
Or it was working, at least.

P.S. After a week of playing (or playtesting, really) I found myself really enjoying this one. It's not much of a scary expirience, but it's definitely a lot of fun. Atmoshpere is good, sound design is good, Jasons are great and with a lot of different killing animations (and I mean a lot. 15 for everyone, 3 personal for each Jason and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of environmenal), and well, generally fun to play. Survivors (counselors, whatever) are okay, they feel a bit woody and clumsy, but I can live with that).
For a bit of criticism - there're plenty of annoying bugs (like this stupid hair physics, ragdoll that looks just stupid in game like that, control problems (FUKKEN DOORS MAN, just use windows, seriously), lightning problems, poor optimisation, hilarious scared faces etc.) but nothing really gamebreaking, lack of key binding (I mean, why?..), weird balance (I mean, it's definitely balanced, but in a way, that you can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in first minute. But it's okay, it supposed to be that way) and really long games (where you'll survive 1v1 for 20 minutes. That is some hard ♥♥♥♥).
Overall - I don't think it's worth it's price even a little bit (there's just not that much content inside, three maps and basically same objectives. Really?) and I don't know how tenacious it will be (like DbD for example. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game is alive after a year), but I can recommend it at good discount (50% should be good). So I put "Recommend" here now, just for the sake of okay game with potential.
BTW, it feels nothing like DbD. I'm dead serious, they may feel like similar games, but they really aren't.

Well. Buy it.
I mean, if you enjoy puzzle games - you should really try this one.
I'm pretty sure it's inspired by three things: Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (especially the AI), puzzle games (Portal, Talos Principle, Antichamber, Cradle etc.) and a little bit of story-driven game like SOMA.
Puzzles are not really challenging, just some of them could be concidered a bit hard.
It's beatiful, well optimized, well written, with great sound production.
And I really enjoyed this game.
So why shouldn't you?

Look, this game full of unrealized ambitions, all things in there were made better somewhere else. Writing is weak, dialogues are boring, characters are flat and uninteresting.
Fighting is easy and monotonous, all quests are pretty much the same, music is unremarkable. And everything on the list they could do better, if only someone would try a little bit more than that.
For first 5 hours of gameplay I felt like I can forgive most of game issues. There're not many RPG's after all. But at some point I found myself thinking - that's it, there will be nothing new here.
So I played it a little more, got bored and turned it off. Then I tried again and it get even worse.
Every time I tried to finish this game - I couldn't. And now I just realized - I will never finish it.
It's just boring, bad and not even close to worth it's price.

Well. It's trying to download all 29 packages again right now.
Also, this game screwed save data once.
And part of it stays in system after you exit.
And also, i've seen some bad perfomance on pretty powerful PC's (not mine though).
PC version is awful.
But here's the thing. MK:X is probably most fun fighting ever made.
Deal with it, write an angry review and play it. You'll enjoy that.
And yes, this review is red. Because port is THAT terrible.

P.S. On start i really liked this game, but after Cassie's joke about Liu Kang's face i totally fell in love.
