an interesting cross-genre experiment that's difficult to summarise but overall quite impressive, not least in just how dedicated the dev seems to be.

it's perhaps closest to some of Failbetter Games' output, being surprisingly narrative heavy. the writing isn't quite on that level, but is serviceable overall and there's some cool and surprising moments. can get a little repetitive when replaying multiple "routes" in the same way a VN might, but other than that i've had a good time with it so far.

solid, charming TD with decent variety. maybe isn't winning any awards for originality but it's enough fun that it doesn't need to. well worth the price.

an enjoyably weird ~business~ themed rpg maker game. recettear is the closest comparison i'm aware of but even for all the goofiness in that game, it didn't have you selling lootboxes to children within the first 20 minutes (in a quest to dismantle capitalism, so its fine)

very ambitious & all over the place, mostly in a good way. the writing and assets are a mixed bag but the human touch comes through in a big way & the dev certainly has their heart in the right place.

"a lotta yall still dont get it. ape holders can use multiple slurp juices on a single ape. so if you have 1 astro ape and 3 slurp juices you can create 3 new apes. Tonight's slurp juice mint event is essentially a minting event for both Lab Monkes and Special Forces."

the balatro comparisons are pretty apt but it does enough differently to set it apart from most of the transparent ripoffs, sorry, "fast follow" games out there. solid challenge with most decks, decent build variety and a heavier emphasis on micro in particular. +1 full letter grade for seemingly being set to the beat of the soundtrack as well.

the contrivance that you're you're forced to buy all you can afford at open (or pass for shop currency) and sell all your shares at close each day like a cursed day trader does feel a little odd admittedly. it might be fun to have alternate game modes where you're able to hold shares for longer, but that's less a criticism and more a feeling that there's room to grow assuming there's updates in future. overall though it's fun as-is.

if, like me, you're someone who maxed all the crafter jobs in FFXIV shortly before questioning your life choices (but ultimately didn't learn from the experience) then you'll likely enjoy this game.

very simple but feels like more than the sum of its parts while it lasts. good chill stuff. runs well on steam deck as well.

hopefully level5 can avoid the slop temptation long enough to ensure this isn't the last game they make with some charm to it.

a fun, tightly designed puzzle game disguised as a grand strategy (possibly to its detriment) where you optimise planetary trade routes. s'good. the default gamemode is pretty chill but the campaign has some decent challenge to it

a fun strategic number-go-up incremental game that's as topical as it can get in a post-Balatro world where so many indies are seemingly inspired by the least interesting elements -- largely not an issue here. most topics it satirises have been (understandably) done to death but the esports angle is still pretty fresh.

falls off a bit in the latter half as the story elements fizzle out and you're required to grind through a score cap, but well worth the money for the fun of build-crafting, Sensible Chuckles reading believably moronic corpo emails, slick UI & nice tunes.

very solid. for anyone that liked into the breach, cobalt core and all the other obvious comparisons this is an easy buy.

seemed a little simple & awkward at first, but after getting the hang of the classes there's some nutty combos. they're all fun but the 2nd was peak teleports behind you nothin personnel kid and the 3rd has you playing xcom while the cpu is stuck playing space invaders. a nice time
