United at last under a single banner, the fractured lands of Agatha enjoyed a brief moment of peace — forged through the strength of General Malric Terrowin and the stewardship of Feydrid Kearn. But that fragile calm was soon shattered when their monarch, King Argon I, launched an ambitious crusade against the distant southern empire of Tenosia. Entrusting Feydrid with the regency, Argon led the majority of Agatha’s army across the sea. The campaign proved disastrous: harsh deserts and Tenosian resistance annihilated the Agathian forces. Amidst the chaos, the king himself vanished, leaving the realm leaderless and on the brink of civil war.

Malric, declaring Argon lost and citing the looming Tenosian threat, rallied his followers under a new banner – the Mason Order – and moved to claim Agatha’s throne. Loyalists to Argon’s bloodline, led by Steward Feydrid, refused to yield, igniting a brutal civil war. For years, the red-and-black banners of the Mason Order clashed with the blue-and-gold of the Agathian Knights across the realm. In the end, Malric’s forces prevailed: Feydrid was slain in battle, and Malric crowned himself the new King of Agatha.

As king, Malric ruled with an iron fist, imposing brutal laws and heavy taxes to forge a realm of warriors. He believed only strength would protect the kingdom from future threats, but his tyranny bred deep resentment among both noble houses and commoners. Nearly two decades later, Argon I’s surviving heir — a young nephew — emerged from exile to claim the throne as King Argon II. Rallying discontented lords and the remnants of the Agathian Knights under the blue-and-gold lion banner, Argon II ignited a new rebellion to reclaim the kingdom and avenge his family.

While Agatha was divided, the Empire of Tenosia seized its chance for vengeance, launching a massive invasion from the south. The Mason Order now faced war on two fronts, battling Argon II’s rebels in the north and the Tenosian armies in the south. Agatha was engulfed in chaos as battles raged on multiple fronts, with Agathian, Mason, and Tenosian forces clashing for supremacy. In a final bid to end the war, Argon II led his forces to besiege Malric’s stronghold at Trayan Citadel. There, amidst fire and blood, King Argon II and King Malric clashed in an epic duel for the fate of Agatha.
