Having just completed the main story of the game, i've been on the fence on if i would recommend this game or not. on the one hand, the visuals, sound design and world are amazing! to the point that ihad to remind myself multiple times throughout my nearly 30 hour playthrough that i was - in fact- not playing a final fantasy game, but a game with about a tneth the development team and budget of your avarage final fantasy game!

the gameplay thoguh is pretty hit or miss. On a basic level, i dont know that I think the dodging and parry mechnics connect very well with a turn based RPG, both systems often end up conflicting with each other where doing well at the Quicktime events to dodge means you can get away with being pretyt mindless in your strats, and having a strong build for your team, means you just MELT enemy HP bars and dont have to engage much in the dodging mechenic.
Now, you can argue that means this game has a playstyle for enjoys of action games and enjoyers of turn based games but I think in trying to serve both audiences, neither one will really find what you're likely looking for in this game.

as for the actual QTEs, the offensive ones are decent enough, having on screen elements for the timing, nothing you haven't seen before. There is a lot happening on screen though, with moving camera,s a LOT of particle effects and animations, which may distract from these timing indicators. Not ideal.
The dodging/parry QTEs though are much less of a succes for me, the sound ques get lost in the overall soundscape quite often and the animation telegraphing is very inconsistent and often times just kind of bad to the point where it really becomes a game of memorsing timing more than being able to respond to what's happening on your screen. enemies will throw in time slows and then , without much warning instantly go into their attack animation at which point... you should already be dodging because if you're even a bit too late, rather than playing some sort of failed dodge animation, the game just ignores your input which feels very frustrating and unresponsive.

Overall, i'm still giving this game a recommend, but with the heavy footnotes that if you go in expecting a normal turn based RPG, you're in for a bad time, and even when knowing what you're getting into, you will get frustrated at times.

pricing structure is downright predatory. Aside from confusing DLC packs that imply you unlock the hitman 2 and 3 content with it while they just ADD extra content to those games (which makes buying those DLCs if you only have "part 1" which is Hitman 1 a total waste of money).

you then, after having misspent that money, realise that you need to rebuy the game as a whole to unlock hitman 2 and 3... no discounts present if you already own the "part 1" version, they just make you rebuy the game you already have.
The fact that Steam even allows this behaviour is mind blowing and the fact that anyone at IOI thought this was a good idea in ANY way even more so.

this might be one you're better off picking up ye' ol eyepatch for...

This is a very hesitant recommendation from me. Not because the game isn't good. It's great! but because if you're looking at reviews to decide if you should play this game. You very likely shouldn't play this game.
This game doesn't stand well on it's own, it picks up where Hollow knight left off in many ways, most importantly with it's difficulty curve. Where it feels like Silk song ends up scaling up to the level of mid-late game hollow knight super quickly, and then slowly builds from there, rather than easing players into it's difficulty.
So if you've already played Hollow Knight and want more of that, with some new different gameplay twists. Yes, this game is for you. But if you're that person, you likely already knew that and dont need me to tell you that. If you are NOT that person, for the love of god DO NOT think you'll have a good time with silksong. Play Hollow Knight first and only if that leaves you wanting more, come back to this game.

the game is really fun, picks up where the last game left off and expands on that. but I can't recommend this game to anyone because of the horrible performance. on a RTX4090 i am getting hardly above 35fps on high settings. So, i am not sure why epic settings even exist as an option to be honest. Even at the barely playable 35fps I get regular stutters where the game spikes to near 20fps.
