Metaphor: ReFantazio is an interesting take from Atlus. The game's art direction and the similar style of Persona gameplay is what initially got me interested. After finishing the game, I feel like Atlus did a fantastic job with Metaphor.

Some of the strong points of the game that I personally enjoy are:

• The combat system and the Archetypes which allows you to customize your team members skills and strength ( although the grind can get abit tedious later on). I played on Normal in my first playthrough and the fights IMO are challenging enough to keep me interested than just breezing through it like previous Persona games.
  
• Well rounded and likable group. I personally quite enjoy Heismay's character.
  
• Absolute banger soundtrack ( I can never get tired of Warriors in Valour)
  
• Streamlined Social Link/Follower system (although there are no option to romance (Eupha best girl) which is understandable regarding the story)

While there are strong points, there are some gripes I have with the game as well:

• While the story is interesting and has some good things, some moments feels abit cliche. The pacing of the story also feels abit rushed later on.
  
• The dungeons are quite a step down from Persona 5 Royal. Some of them feels very repetitive and not very well polished at all. They lack alot of identity compares to the villain dungeons in Persona 5.
  
• Missable and forced NG+ achievements. Some achievements are very easy to miss if you are too busy paying attention to other things which is a bit painful for someone that is a completionist. Other than that, there is a strong secret boss that is only available in NG+ which is kinda sucks since you will need to play through a decent amount of the game to level up again.

Despite the downsides, I still think that Metaphor: ReFantazio is an worthwhile game for JRPGs enjoyers.


TL;DR: If you enjoy games from Atlus and know what to expect, you will probably enjoy Metaphor: ReFantazio.
