If its just about Uploading a mod, then you can use Crowbar's Publish tab to upload mods.

I wrote a guide on how to use crowbar, and it has a section on the "Publish" tab. check it out here: https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2283219908

You just set the addon name, pick a thumbnail and the vpk you made, then upload it.
Don't forget that visibility might be set to hidden, and you can unhide it on the steam workshop page once you have uploaded some images or linked a video.

@мяFunreal When I inquired about you possibly making VGUI stuff for your "Chad Coach" & "Chad Nicholas" mods you said in response "i could add vgui stuff, but then i'll get a buncha upset messages demanding i remove it." I'm curious. From whom would you receive said "upset messages"? From the community here on steam? Or on our discord server?

If you did exceed the memory limit, there is nothing you can do but to use less mods, or less "heavy" mods, like RNG stuff.

The engine itself isn't at fault, but the game executable. It never got any meaningful update like the HL2 exe got with its 20 year upgrade. We're still on 32bits with a dinky 4gb ram limit. So unless valve decided to make a 64bit update just like hl2, you'll be forced to not use the mods you're using.

Hi, if you don't mind, could you help me figure out why my game keeps crashing? Apparently, it's because the game's memory limit is exceeded while I have multiple add-ons subscribed at the same time? Does this happen to everyone, or is the game engine outdated? Is there a solution? I just don't want to play without the add-ons. I'm asking you because you're an experienced modder, and I use your add-ons quite often.

well the snarky comment would be "be careful".
But really you just gotta make sure that all the transforms of all the objects and bones are applied, so that there isn't any hidden scale or location change lingering anywhere.

If the bones you exported on were just posed, rather than a rest pose, it'll break.
if the model object was scaled and not had its scales applied, it'll turn noodle-limbed.

I want to create a custom model for Half Life 2 - how do I do it correctly to avoid model errors? Every time I encountered a model stretched in different directions, either in animations or in the game, the character looked like a sandman. This happens even on original Valve models.

Oh boy, if i had access to the source code of L4D2, i would upgrade it to the Source2013, add all my fixed props and recompile every single map with better lighting.

Unfortunately, being the guy who fixes all the assets and makes most of the guides is not enough credibility to even get onto the TLS team. So there's no chance in hell i'll ever be able to do anything worthwile...

Yeah, seemingly impossible. Probably hardcoded by the same system that colors the health number color.

I edited my hud to use every possible color setting that has ever been used in any res file. Not a single one of them was capable of recoloring the text color. Adding "Brighttext" and "Dulltext" in any combo also didn't help.

I actually tried the fgcolor method and it didn't seem to do anything as the names stayed the off white color.

depends on where. I have no idea what file alters the name and healthbar over the playermodel heads. But the healthbars on the bottom of the screen should be colorable using fgcolor_override

You just reminded me that stats even exist. And i mod the game more than i actually play it. the past three or so years were genuinely just me launching the game to make maps or mods.
