Let’s be fair: this game makes a phenomenal first impression. The graphics are so beautiful you might be tempted to forgive what comes next. The native support for 32:9 monitors is a technical marvel, a rare treat that makes the world feel truly expansive. And the sound design? Top-notch. The score swells dramatically while the professional voice acting delivers every line with a passion that suggests they were reading from a much, much better script.

And then you actually have to play it.

The story is as basic as it gets. Gameplay quickly becomes repetitive, with moments of high dramatic art. For example, instead of simply shooting you in the head, a boss will pull out a knife to “settle things honorably”, breaking any sense of immersion.

The stealth missions are a particular highlight. Most of them start with strict "avoid detection" rule, but then the story suddenly demands a loud shootout where you have to kill everyone anyway. It makes you wonder why you bothered sneaking around in the first place.

The game gives you a huge world, but there is nothing in it. Some mechanics were clearly introduced just so you could immediately forget them. You can take photos… for absolutely no reason. Collecting money? Don’t bother, every firefight has more free guns and ammo than a military base.

And don't let me started on the enemy AI... They shout when they're reloading or out of ammo, run out into open spaces, and behave as if their main goal is to make your victory as easy as possible.

Ultimately, the game feels like a world-class art gallery and sound studio that had a mediocre, half-finished game accidentally built inside it. It’s a technical triumph that offers little reason to stick around until the credits roll.


Enzo has better chemistry with Cesare than with Isabella, and you can't convince me otherwise.

Quite unrealistic story for sure, but that's not my main complaint. Walkthrough takes approximately only 7 hours max (I got all 4 endings and read bonus 'memory' stuff). The story itself is just okay-ish. I've experienced my fair share of interesting and captivating VN, and this one is, well, just not it. I can't say it's bad by any means. But I was expecting more. More depth, more character study, I don't know, just MORE.
Although the visuals are very very appealing, liked music too.

So, can I recommend this game? Despite its more or less lackluster short story I probably can. If you are not into 'the ultimate in brotherly love' stuff, you can read about soccer at least.

Игра отличная!
Конечно, немного раздражает медленное передвижение ГГ. Да, сама боевка немного однообразная.
НО! Какая же красота вокруг! Sea of Corpses - это просто 10/10. Испытания - 10/10 (особенно ультра темнота с жуткими созданиями). А уж враги нарисованы ОЧЕНЬ круто. В целом все гармонично и атмосферно. В VR было бы просто охрененно поиграть от первого лица.
Сюжет тоже хорош, следить за развитием было весьма интересно.
Звуковое сопровождение, озвучка заслуживают оваций. Все очень здорово. Играть не с тихой громкостью, ибо потеряется многое.
В общем, играть в Hellblade - одно удовольствие. 10/10, наверное, многовато, но 9 точно заслуживает.
