Having waited a bit longer than intended, I finally got hold of this game and have played it for two hours, but there are just a couple of things I can't stop noticing. As a whole, I do like this this game. It's relaxing, amusing, and a fun little aquarium designer. I've not gotten too far in the game as of yet, so I will update this review should anything else crop up.

There are currently two things that keep taking me out of it -

1) Inconsistent/incorrect fish model sizes to descriptions, meaning some of the 4 cm fish have models larger than the 12 cm fish. I don't think this is a difficult fix, but would help a lot to tie things together better visually when creating tanks, and stop the pedants like me noticing.

2) Fish "AI". I'm not sure if there is any sort of "AI" for the fish, so to speak, but I find that a lot of the fish tend to crowd areas no matter the species as if they're stuck in a small bubble of available water, and refuse to take up the full space of the tank. It would be brilliant if the fish could actually have variable behavioural traits to allow them to behave more appropriately based on the species, to stay in the appropriate places, to utilise the space more, to be more/less active or even to avoid one-another where needed. Honestly, I feel that this could even be disregarded if the fish were simply more able to utilise the space, and had at least a few preset behaviour types (bottom level slow, top level active, middle shoaling, etc) that were assigned to the fish to allow you to choose which bits of the tank the fish were, to help prevent this overcrowding issue.


I have also noticed a couple of issues where the icons of items do not match up with the items themselves (for example, the two skulls in the shop have their icons reversed), and some issues with the campaign emails not aligning with the appropriate campaigns/scores.

Overall, a very relaxing, enjoyable game - but with issues, and plenty of areas left for improvement. Certainly plenty of potential!

This game is absolutely addictive. It takes a little while to get into, your first game might not be as enthralling but as soon as you play a second you'll be hooked. Get into modding and you're not coming back from it. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for something that will make you forget what the passage of time is.
