I hate that I have to do this, since it's obvious I love the game, but after a thousand hours of playtime since the game launched in 2016, Civilization VI is no longer playable for any significant amount of time. The game crashes after a few turns regardless of what settings are applied. My last 10 hours of gameplay has been submitting crash error reports and reloading the game. It's an extremely frustrating experience that I had never experience in my first thousand hours of playing.

This software is no longer supported and should not be for sale, especially considering it basically doesn't work any more. Go for Blender instead. It's free.

>Tacoma is estimated to take around 2 to 5 hours to complete. How deep you dig and how much detail you find is up to you. Tacoma is a non-combat, non-puzzle-focused game. The details of the story and gameworld are there for you to discover at your own pace.

That's from the game's description. It's important. 2 hours, and I poked around a bit. 5 hours if you pick up every bag of chips and piece of trash laying around and admire it.

Overall, this is just a really, really, really short book that is somewhat interactive. You don't influence the outcome one bit, nor can you influence the 'interactive' scenes. You just watch them. You can move around and watch from different angles, but that's all it is.

Once you watch the scenes, the game progresses and tells you to turn the page, so to speak. Then you go watch another chapter, with only 3-4 chapters, depending on how you look at it.

Did I enjoy it? Yes. It was a good story. It was deep and suspenseful, for as little story as there is.

Is it worth the money I spent on it? No, not even close. Nowhere near it. A 2-hour 3D movie doesn't cost this much. There is no replay value here, either. Once you see it, that's it. You've experienced all it has to offer. By the time you finish, the beginning is still fresh enough that there's no desire to re-do it.

Overall - thumbs down, because it's being sold four at least four times what it's worth, in time and content.

This game is an awesome experience full of mind-bending puzzles. There's a lot to discover, and overall it's more about the journey than the ending.

My first attempt to play this game ended in a total system crash.

My second attempt to play the game ended in a crash after being told I had to restart to apply graphics changes.

My third attempt to play the game ended after 25 minutes when Windows warned me I was nearly out of memory (16GB total).

For the extremely brief time I was able to play the game, I was treated to visuals straight out of history, with gracphis options equivalent to a game ten years old. The 30fps lock was completely awful and made for one of the worst gaming experiences I've suffered through in a very long time.

In its current state, this 'game' is nothing more than an excercise in futility and frustration, and you'd only be paying to beta test, assuming the developers decide to ever actually address any of these issues.

I highly recommend staying away from this piece of garbage. If the developers actually do decide to attempt to fix any of these issues,

Edit 19Aug2015 - It's been over a month since any communication regarding a patch that was promised two months ago. Nothing has changed, the game is more or less unplayable and should be avoided at all costs. Based on the lack of communication and action, it does not appear there are any actual active plans to fix this game any time soon.

This is a downgrade from Deus Ex: Human Revolution in every sense.

The graphics are sub-par and remniscent of games 10 years ago. The character models are blocky and pixelated and move like marionettes controlled by the slow kid. The backgrounds are nice and ripped straight from DE:HR, so I'm not sure why the decision was made to let a high school kid make the character models in obsolete software.

The controls are awful. They're mapped the same way as in DE:HR, but they don't work. The tutorial moments hijack the game, and either do the actions it tells you to do, kill your ability to move until you press the key it wants (but only movement, everything else, including enemy movement, is still active), or they flat out don't work at all, such as the time I was stuck against a cardboard box unable to move while an enemy gunman shot at me lazily with his pistol until I died.

I was a huge fan of DE:HR and so I was looking forward to this, but it's a trainwreck and not worth the frustration and hassle. This must be what it feels like when your crack dealer knows you're hooked and gives you the crappy stuff on purpose because he knows you'll buy it anyway. Be warned: this isn't crack, it's just baking soda and milk with bad graphics.

"Do I want to punch through walls, or do I want to throw dumpsters and refrigerators?" These are the kinds of questions you'll ask yourself while playing. I had a lot of fun with this one (and The Missing Link DLC).

This game has ambience, it has atmosphere, it has style. Oh, and everything's kinda yellow, but whatever. You can throw dumpsters. The only real disappointment in the game is that the boss battles were geared to combat builds, so other builds would have an extremely difficult time with them if the proper preparations were not made.

The proper preperations are: Level 2 typhoon, plenty of typhoon ammo, and enough candy bars to power the explosives. (Yeah, that's a thing.)

It's like crack. You start getting into it, then when it's time to stop, you say to yourself, "Just one more turn". When your friends come knocking on your door at 3am a week later, asking why you haven't been to work the last week, you tell them "It's ok, I can quit whenever I want." They try to have an intervention, but you don't show up because you just discovered Uranium.

Then the electric company shuts off your power cuz you haven't paid your bil in three months. So you move in with a friend for a week. Two months later, he's kicking you out, but it's okay because you traded your desktop for his laptop and you can play at an internet café.

Then finally, you discover space travel and take your civilization to a new galaxy and you start playing the space colony mod. Your achievement' so great you wind up in a local newspaper - because you're the first kid in your town to die in an internet café while playing a video game. You're not even Korean.

Are you afraid of zombies? Like, for real? Did you have trouble watching I Am Legend? This game will CURE you, because nothing is more empowering and helps you overcome your fear of zombies more than grabbing a katana and cutting down an endless horde of zombies while hardly breaking a sweat.

But I still can't re-watch I Am Legend.

There's a zombie on your lawn and you're too lazy to deal with it, so you sic your plants on the undead brain-eaters. Sounds lame, but it's actually really fun and challenging. The music video at the end is pretty hilarious, too.
