Had i listened to all the "lol New World" hate over the past year i wouldn't have found a great game with loads of upside potential. I wasn't around at launch so i can't speak for the games state then. But what i can say about it now is.
-Greatest sound engineering i've ever heard in any game, period.
-Cool low fantasy setting. Absolutely gorgeous zones to explore.
-Satisfying combat that feels like a hack and slash.
-Refreshing take on the mmo genre that foregoes tab targeting for action packed combat while swapping out traditional class system for a be-anything-anytime weapon based system. All that while respecting the holy trinity of tank-heals-dps.
-A deep crafting system divided into gathering/production trades.
-The gathering is quite relaxing and the sound engineering really enhances the experience (Logging anyone?)
-Quite unique passive buffing system that has you play a rock band mini game on in game instruments.

Best part is i haven't even gotten to end game yet, and i'm enjoying the level grind taking my sweet time with it. The next update looks like a massive bonus to an already fun game.

If you made it this far, give this game a try. To me its evident that the devs have put a lot of care into making this a fun and unique experience. Just the sound alone is worth the pricetag, everything else is bonus. If you're looking for a wow or ff14 clone though, this isn't it. It breaks away from traditional mmo's but in the right way. Its not trying to kill wow or ff14 its just existing along side them. It offers new looks and feel to mmo while giving you familiarity you've gotten used to over the years.
