witchcraft is a topic which is highly misunderstood by society becauseof this misunderstanding, lots of innocent people died. witchcraft, known as a religion called wicca, is spread out all the world a very long period of time witches defined as the persons who we supernatural powers and abilities in many religionsand myths. witchcraft is a modernized version of shamanism. witches can be seen in almost all countries in history. witches have been known to mankind since 1200's. witchcrafting is closely associated with wizardry but they're not the same. wizards are not witchers ( at least not all of them) but every witch has to be a good wizard. witchcrafting can be seen in different names in many countries. for example, witchery means macumba in africa, and voodoo in haiti. for some people, what is called witchcraft is a job for widows because of the economical necessity in 15th and 17th centuries. probably, the most obvious charecteristic of a witch was the ability to cast a spell. a spell could be consisted of a set of wards or a ritual. here is an interesting witch ability; in the most people believed that witches could conjure the dead. conjuring the dead also known as 'necromancy'. they thought witches were worshipping the devil. witchcrafting and black magic were forbidden for almost every religion. because of that, witches and persons who blamed for witchcrafting were judged in inquisitions. almost 40000 people executed in inquisitions. probably, many of them were innocent. most well-known exetucion event is salem witch trials. the trials were resulted with the executions of twenty people, fourteen of them were woman, all were burned except one. that one person was hanged. and the others (including two infant children) died in prison. salem town, ipswich, andover. the most infamous trials were conducted by the court of oyer terminer in 1692. salem witch trials started with abigail williams. abigail and her cousin betty, pasris were first accusers of the salem witch trials. williams was 11 years old at that time. according to witnesses, the girls sceamed, threw things, wittered strange sounds and did anormal behaviours.
