You can see how much care the developers have put into this, the map is probably the best I have ever seen in a game. Every nook and cranny is filled with details, you can keep on exploring for hours without getting bored. You should play this game for the environment alone! As a bonus you get: satisfying combat and flight mechanics, interesting main story and side-quests like classes where you learn new spells, your own menagerie which acts as fully customizable player housing and other typical open world fluff like puzzles and challenges. There is also no real grind as the game is quite generous in giving you resources and gear.

Only wished for a bit more fleshing out of the school-experience like having meals with your friends, more classes, having to be in your room at night, etc. There are a few missed opportunities there, but overall I don't mind.
Otherwise there are a few optimization issues causing lag on the pc-port in some areas, but nothing that makes the game unplayable.

Aside from a few minor missed opportunities, this is likely one of the best games of the year. A definite must play!
