This is my first ENDLESS game, I don’t think this is a bad game but it’s certainly not what I thought I was signing up for.

The trailers do a poor job of showing what the gameplay has to offer, only showing snippets of gameplay and lacks display of the progression.

Quest from my own experience only progress when you’ve completed them and died. So it’s better to just die once you’ve done your quest rather than pushing further otherwise your quest will have you sometimes do exactly the same thing you just did again.

The friendly AI can frustrating to deal with, playing solo has you controlling 2-3 characters at a time and they never use their ult which of course is fixed by playing in co-op. Not only do the characters have somewhat clunky AI movement but the Bot/Crystal too. The bot can get stuck on environmental objects which dramatically delays progressing through waves if you don’t notice soon enough, I encountered this issue twice and I only imagine how much more it would happen if I didn’t make a habit of shoot out all the destructible environmental objects.

The flow of the game is somewhat ruined by character ults immobilising you for far too many seconds and there are a few frustrating enemies in the game that also contribute to that as well, specifically the one enemy weak to light that goes invisible and invulnerable for what seems like 5-10 seconds. It doesn’t flow well, I think this should be changed to maybe 3 seconds max.

Also I really don’t understand why games are leaning towards 3 player max co-op instead of 4.

I think the general gameplay is really fun and you can get a lot of mileage out of this with 2 other friends in co-op. The art style, music and sound design is all quite delightful.

I recommend picking this game up on sale with friends for hours of fun.

I do not recommend this game for solo play.
