It's like one of those Grand Strategy games (Medieval: Total War, Europa Universalis, etc...); except with about 20 different civilizations/races, several hundred types of mythical monsters and more ordinary units, 3 different distinct 'ages' where all the civilizations are different, a very rich backstory, thousands of different types of items, artifacts (full RPG/equip system basically for any hero), hundreds of spells and dozens of ruins to uncover/explore.

If you ever played those types of games and enjoyed it - well simply put you'll enjoy this one even more.

Very nice like RPG/Roguelike type thing; go around, get loot, build up your character. I have a feeling I'll be playing this on and off for a looooooong time.

Nothing screams awesome like building up your own Middle Ages dynasty. Maybe it might sound lame - but - you're wrong.

For those megalomaniacs who love Grand Strategy games and want to change to try out some 15th-18th century alternative history; this game just can't be beat.

PLVS VLTRA mod comes highly recommended - comes with a whole new world map, with 3x the amount of provinces, and includes the AGCEEP mod too - which gives you quite literaly - 10,000 or so historical events covering this time-period. Serious amount of replayability here.
