Having played a bit more I'm surprised at the depth and how elegant the game is actually designed, although it may seem like a simple game at first. The way the beginner achievement is getting 1,000,000 points, and only after that the guide wallpaper changes to explain the achievement systems. The way there's a special 'cats and dogs' mode that lets you start from Lv 29. I encourage people to check out the guides written by dairis in the Guides section.

This is type of rhythm game, where many charts do surprising and delightful things. The core mechanics are solid and unique, and the charts feel excited to show you all the ways you can play. I've smiled countless times just in the first hour just at how creative some moments are. Yet there is clearly a high skill ceiling. If you like polish and thought in your rhythm games here is one for you! (i make rhythm doctor and adofai so basically if you like those games you will have the same taste for what Beatblock does too)

Really fun and charming game. I found it great to play with a partner! Like their other game Can't Live Without Electricity, there's some great design decisions that show the developer understands the mindset of their audience. With this one there is no penalty for clicking wrongly and the hint system is generous, making it perfect as a relaxing after-work game. The art and the way the cats are hidden is usually pretty funny, and the story is cute.

There is DLC for the latter half of the game, and the first half is totally free. Surely that is a good thing, you might think, that the developer let you play the first half for free. Yet, if you scroll down, you'll see people giving a negative review for that. The only reason they gave a NEGATIVE review for making the first half of the game completely free, is that those people are achievement hunters who find free games just to increase their achievement count, and they feel cheated that they downloaded a free game but couldnt add it to their 'perfect all achievement games' stat. Seriously
