A souls-like that is better than the souls games. Higher quality, better story, more play styles, more interesting weapon types, stances, Japanese history, etc.

Fun game for the first 10 hours, then it gets monotonous and boring. There are only 4 or 5 types of missions and the biome you do them on doesn't change them at all. The 4 miner classes aren't that different from each other and were not that fun to experiment with. The missions can take 15 - 30 minutes, but at the end of them you feel like you haven't done anything and are not rewarded with many materials. I still have to "prestige" and unlock the forge and deep dives, but I really don't think I can make the grind from level 15 to level 25 on just one character to unlock them. There are also lots of bugs still in the game, early access I guess, like the flying bug creatures just going through walls and grabbing you. Some people could definitely get addicted and enjoy this game, but unfortunately I was not one of them. My advice is to wait for the full release.

Fun game for casual play or competitive with an insanely high skill ceiling.

Honestly not as scary as I thought it would be but still one of the most scary games I've ever played. The game play is fairly straightforward as an FPS and the story is one of mental disarray. The MC is actually an interesting guy and usually does react to situations in this world as expected. Honestly, overall, this game is just downright fun to play. If you like horror games even slightly you will thoroughly enjoy Cry of Fear.

Phenomenal game that truly defines what it is to be the "2"nd version of a title. The entire dynamic of Risk of Rain has changed by a dimension and it is just as frighteningly thrilling as before.

Every power-up appears on your character as you collect them and stacking/combining certain items makes you feel like a god. There's always a choice to either find every treasure chest on the map or rush to the boss fight ASAP. All the enemies have attacks that display their unique personalities. I played on the highest graphics settings and this game lagged LESS than the original title, hell, it didn't lag AT ALL. Further, each character is as fully fleshed out as they were in the original but the third dimension adds so many more possibilities for strategy and survival tactics.

You can play both singleplayer or multiplayer with no one game mode having an advantage over the other in my opinion. Sometimes becoming a one man hoarder feels much better than tag teaming with friends or vice versa. I am very excited for the development of this title. Hopoo games have truly cemented themselves as an inventive and capable studio with this pre-release. I trust that Hopoo will steer clear from expensive or short DLC when version 1.0 comes out. 10/10 so far.
