Voice acting from the humans can be a bit stiff/monotone, and city NPC wont usually say more than their inital lines when you walk passed so it looses some of the livelyness of the city. But it is otherwise Robocop, and the world looks beatufuly grim and dank. The shooting and explosions are fun and the story is good enough. Had a few bugs: Hacking a turret can get you stuck in place, fix was to enable 60FPS mode and I was able to walk again, then swap back to the smooth unlimited experience. A box landed on top of a body during a shootout that i needed to investigate and could not locate the hiding hotspot so had to reload a checkpoint and chase the cat again.

Unable to get game to start passed the config menu,
Installed the legacy Physx drivers, Which fixed the inital issue of it bing stuck on a white screen after clicking play. Now it just crashes to desktop, no onscreen error and it creates a crash dump each time in the games folder.

Tried updating drivers, rebooted, ran with and without the widescreen fix file, multiple combinations of settings and resolutions, enabling compatibility modes, and run as admin. Running a bat file to set the CPU affinity at lauch of the exe, Setting 60hz for the display and max 60fps for replay.exe via Nvidia config. Even tried pushing it to use the CPU's AMD graphics processer instead of the nvidia card but no chage, same crash.

Checked in the debug file the game generates every crash and it's crashing with INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_fmodex.dll but that did not get me closer to a solution.
The game has the fmodex.dll file so its not missingm, Yes ran steam filecheck, and an sfc scannow and was not resolved.

Gameplay is fun, Story is there, Ambient background music is not- seemingly by design, odd choice (play it or another soundtrack on YT in the background), PC port is playable on KBM (as usual this could have been better). There is a fov patch and fan patches for better visuals, don't pay full price but it's not a bad unfun game.

Game has Well written short stories, Lovely pixel art, The Train Design, the overall lighting,
Some classic point and clicking but not logic defying. and it's free.
(I was testing settings and end-up running the game directly from the executable so missed counting my time (and achievements))

A few hours wandering the intial zone, I'm enjoying the atmosphere and the unfolding story/s.
Any time I think, maybe, they should have added more random mobs, I walk into a pack of dogs :D or get pulled into someone elses fight. There are a few visual bugs here and there but nothing serious
(On 1.7 patch - haven't played earlier patches - probably wont get around to updating my review for future patches)

It may start with walking but there are so many ways to traverse the scenery once you get passed the first tutorial area, don't let the early haters put you off trying the game.

While it deserves some criticisms this did not deserve the hate it got.
Annoying difficulty spikes on the boss fights, and yes they do force you to slow walk during some segments, but this is not a true walking sim as some seem to be claiming. Has an Interesting space "horror" plot not super unique but not dull, and I had a fun time blasting and bashing the dead.
Note: Barely any attempted jump scares (So if you love them or hate them).

Hopefully someone puts a second game on/back on the table in the near future, I'd be up to continue in the universe.

I think asking for reviews mid game should be frowned upon, but yes this is otherwise a good game with an enjoyable game-play loop. Yes locations to repeat too often once you have played for a few hours.

[Yes, But]

Story: Ignore the haters, The story is another beautiful roller coaster of emotions with choices along the way.
Max is still Max and their comments on random things was nice nostalgia.
I don't think anything will be as good as the first LiS it was the first, but I don't get the hate others have for the story.

Gameplay Zones: The exploreable areas while beautiful (if you can get a stable texture quality) feels more limited than ever, and you annoyingly need to re-enable fast walk each time it loads between areas, there seem to be too many loading screens. No manual save, and it is somehow less memorable when it does autosave, so if you need to quit and are not sure when it last autosaved you may have to repeat multiple conversations when you load back in.

I haven't played the cat DLC, so cant specifically comment on it, There is an annoying full screen notice at a specific point loading between levels warning that you are about to continue playing without the Cat DLC this was immersion breaking.

Bugs: Visuals are by default are a blurry and un-optimised mess, so if you are even approaching low/mid specs it's a challenge to find the balance of looks good enough and doesn't play like a slide show - hopefully the planned patches improve this for the next round of players. I also had Doors randomly out of place, Max's giant floating camera appearing randomly when leaving conversations= and at one point in the last 2 chapters Max became a floating head until I quit and reloaded. I had less problems getting cyberpunk 2077 to be relatively stable :D.

I found adding the below to the end of the Engine.ini file seemed to help stablise my gameplay, and set max frames to 30:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Chronos\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini

[SystemSettings]
r.AntiAliasingMethod=4
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0

So Yes, I recommend the experience, but wait for the patches, and check the Technical Support forum to see if they are resolved. Disappointing yet another company is not sufficiently optimising their game experience before release.
