Magicka is not a traditional game, and I laud it for its use of new mechanics and great humor in order to provide a fun and unique game experience. However, the game has enough caveats to it that I cannot heartily recommend it.

For one thing, if you have a low end computer that just barely meets the minimum requirements to play it, stay away from this game; its optimization is very poor and and it will crash on startup if you try playing it on such a system. Additionally, this is a game that really shines with friends, and will not be that much fun if you play it without at least one friend. The game is also notoriously buggy, especially in multiplayer (I swear at least a third of my gameplay time was just spent trying to connect to my friends after game crashes).

There's a good game hiding behind these issues, but there are so many of them and they are so blatant that they prevent this game from being the great game it could have been. As is, it's a good sale buy.

P.S., Many people rag on this game for its absurd number of DLC's, but there are only four or so that are actual campaigns; the rest are just skins and challenge maps that are completely skippable.

A really fun roguelike Zelda-esque shooter with a large amount of content (read 30+ hours of gameplay) at a very low price. The game is especially interesting in how more content gradually unlocks for the game as you die over and over again, so it contains a sense of accomplishment even when you lose. Some people may be put off by the dark and disturbing imagery, or the game's extreme difficulty; if neither of these bother you, then I highly recommend it.
