You can tell when the devs of a game actually want to play the game they're making. One of the best PvE movement shooters going.

Builds on what made Tekken 7 so good with new mechanics and a fresh face to the genre. Tonnes of extra features and great practise tools to help you learn from losses easier than before. Couldn't ask for more from this game.

Only writing a review to counter the review bomb. Game has plenty of good combat mechanics, though you might not mesh well with some of the 'swap between two worlds' mechanics that can feel a little excessive, but otherwise refreshing new take on a souls-like. Keep medium settings to avoid forced raytracing.

Early Access Review
Really fun rogue-like that has an increasing buidl variety and a cool gimmick of having a pool of bosses for each area. Highly recommend especially for the price

Play for the first time with a friend, load into character select it tells us both that someone has abandoned the match and closes the lobby. Return to main menu and my friends game crashes. He loads it back up to find a 5 minute leaver penalty. That's weird, whatever, I'll go for a game while I wait for his ban to end. Load into a lobby, get to character select, but once again a message pop up that a player has left and the lobby closes. "Damn that's weird 2 games in a row" I think to myself as I relaunch the game to see I have a 5 minute penalty for abandoning the match. It's Free 2 Play but I still want my money back.

Early Access Review
I hate early access stuff 90% of the time but Shatterline is one of the few exceptions I have. The engine is basically finished so the gunplay is already fluid and fun, it's nice to see more shooters giving us higher movement and this game really delivers. Since the sad death of Titanfall 2, I'm always looking for more movement shooters to ink my teeth into and while it's not on the same level as TF2, constant sliding and multiple pathways go a long way to getting my dopamine receptors working. I like the maps and the push the payload gamemode is probably the game at its best, though, the TDM gamemodes are still dumb fun. They have a proper release schedule and rotation of gamemodes through the course of early access, so it's getting constant love even in a pre-launch state, which is a good sign. My gripes with the game aren't huge but I will still voice them here to be fair. The classes are cool but you have to pick them at the start of the match, competing against the other players that want the same character. This means that if you don't have the game on an SSD you're at a disadvantage due to loading in slower, so you're probably not going to be getting the chance to pick your class and will be left to sift through what is left (so good luck picking the medic or sniper classes). The PVP stuff is designed to be team-based, with different characters having access to different skills, some of which open up the map/ allow them to interact with it differently. So if the guy that can break walls is picked by a new player, there stands a good chance a few shortcuts that are advantageous won't be opened until the new player accidentally stumbles into it. This all being said, there's a lot going on at times but the game is relatively easy to pick up and learn and has a good skill ceiling for the avid FPS player. Looking forward to seeing the game when it's fully released!

Expensive for the content given, but the endgame loop has been incredibly fun for me and my friends. Only get this if you want more of the base game loop. Here's hoping they'll add more content soon.
