What begins as a simple milk delivery progresses further inward with a deeper connection between characters. One of the deepest and hardest hitting plots of the series thus far, with a sprinkle of fruit loops to wash down the genres flavors. I only wish that the resource harvesting mechanics were expanded. Perhaps a ranching update would help fulfill the drought.

The latest installment of IRL cleanup games begins with an in game mess on your character, and follows up with puzzling dynamic of getting stuck in a washing machine. Thankfully external hints are both provided and rewarded as your simultaneously cleaning and making a mess...

The inclusion of a top and bottom leveling path was a fine addition to the series. And the artistic expressions provided in emoji form were on par with others in the series. I only wish there were more levels and images to clean.

Exquisitely hand crafted gameplay loop with dramatic scenery and character voice-lines/expressions. The role play and elements of irony in cleaning the maids truly captivated me into forgetting about the real three dimensional world. Every image has been hand crafted with excellence in simulating both fluid physics and depth. The cooperative game play elements also introduce interesting ways of completing each chapter. I only wish the developers would milk the series more.

I treat the game as pay to play.

If you spend ~20$ on bank tabs, you'll have lots of fun.
But if you don't spend any money on bank tabs you'll feel incredibly limited once you reach maps. (after leveling through acts)

The game isn't pay to win, but the convenience of stash tabs makes the experience overwhelmingly faster and easier.

The core game is fun. You can unlock everything without paying. The problem is the exp system.

The current experience system actively encourages players to tank their mmr and smurf in order to level up their towers. There is an experience boost for playing at higher ranks, however a 25% bonus in a 15minute game is nothing compared to a 7 minute noob rush. This is worsened by the fact you need to use your weak towers in order to level them up, so in a high rank game you’re guaranteed to lose mmr trying to level them, and you'll end up smurfing anyways. Personally, I would be fine with the current exp system if you only needed to unlock Tier 5 towers, but instead you need it for basic abilities at tier 3.

Early Access Review
Good game, good controls, give me more.
I bought it for budget vr mario kart, and got the arcade experience of that. cool vr game, but not complete.

Maps
The levels vary in "comfort" and speed. Comfort usually means how geometric or flat a level is, while speed is determined by the number of turns. Classic maps are extremely flat & the most comfortable while the space ones are usually more intense. I tried jumping straight into the space maps but it was too difficult until I practiced on the flatter maps for a while. The space levels are a smaller rainbow road. They also included some maps as "coming in the future"

Controls
There's a lot of control options, and you can even move the bike/camera. Using the motion controls like a wiimote is the funnest but it started to strain my arm/wrist after a while. Playing with sticks is easier and better for learning the speeds of tracks but its just not fun. I also think the head tracking for turns is the most immersive however you cant look around as much, and its harder to aim missiles "red/green shells" this way. There should be a button to change targets with the "red shells" like how most fighting games use tab.

Tutorial
After launching the game it puts you in with default motion controls and teaches you the basics of how the game works, but one important note is that only mentions "recharging" at the end in a text box. I had no clue how important it was & got spammed by an audio message telling me to recharge once I got into game. Turns out its like a health bar that can only regenerate if you sacrifice an item pickup. The tutorial really needs to be updated man.

Audio
Apart from the recharge spam, most the audio is fine. My main complaint is that the music is repetitive and the game needs more.

AI
There's a difficulty slider for AI but I've left it on intermediate so far because it can be brutal when learning the game. You will get hit and potentially spammed, but you'll likely just get passed on a turn. I haven't noticed any rubber banding or griefing by them because I'm always behind until later in the game. You can fall very behind if you don't make good turns, but you can also catch up if you do & use some of the items. I like to play with 5 laps over the default 3 because it helps with catching up.

Graphics
By default it started in low which is understandable. I tried bumping it up to medium & high but it was unplayable using a gtx1060. Like most vr games you want the frames before the foliage. Make sure the window is focused before playing or else it can lag like beat saber. Visually it looks good even on low, but I can tell how empty they made the backgrounds compared to the track & that's just modern constraint. I also noticed that the AI & yourself all use the same character model, and it would be cool to have some more variety.

Price
Its fair at $15 now, controller support is worth more, and it has replay value, the multiplayer may not be active in the future but its fine for single player.
