In this review I'll just write about the singleplayer campaign, since I don't play multiplayer a lot.

Perfect combination of old and new elements, like on one hand the fast paced gameplay with a variety of guns for different situations, varied enemy types and some open levels which can be explored non-linearly (including secrets!) and on the other hand the weapon and character upgrade system which lets you pick your preferred playstyle. The graphics are a mix of mostly Doom 3's dark atmosphere and a few of the old Doom's colourful enemies. The only thing I didn't like as much as the rest was the design of a few of the enemies, like the cyberdemon which looks like it comes straight out of a Blizzard title, but that's just a very minor flaw.

Technically, the game is also very good. The environments look great, indoor as well as outdoor. The enemies are extremely detailed and wonderfully animated. The framerate is stable at 60 (GTX 970, 16GB RAM, i5-4690K) and the loading times are not even noticable on my SSD. The only flaw is that the game crashed 2 times so far.

I can recommend this to old and new FPS fans alike, it's just great.

Best RPG that came out for years. Recommended to everyone who likes a good story, interesting characters, tactical gameplay and of course RPGs.
