I knew as soon as I saw the first trailer that I'd like this game.
I wasn't disappointed, as someone who's been constantly chased a succesor to Left 4 Dead 2 for the last 20 years.
The maiin downside for me so far is that I still didn't find all the sensations I had with World War Z from the same developer, especially in terms of massive swarms made of thousans of zombies.
I also think this type of zombie game is basically made for having a horde mode (and it is not yet, at release).

13/20.

A nice long RPG about a part of history that I did not know anything about.
The train is an integral part of the game and allows you to immerse into the sense of community this game tries to create more easily.
On the down side, it gets quite repetitive in the last hours, especially since you've kind of broken the meta of it.

I wanted to love this game and I actually do, but I can't help but regretting that it didn't go further and that no major improvements have been made since its release (let's be honest, any prospect of a DLC is a fallacy at this point).
It does the job more than well, but mostly because the WW1 conflict hasn't been really spoilt in terms of options.

The combat mechanisms are good, but the gestion/economy components are too simplistic for a grand strategy game.

A nice remake of a game I've totally missed on the Playstation 2 that I would have probably would love as a teenage boy.
The gameplay kept its old school touch, while not being too hard or too simple in its mechanisms.

14,5/20.

The gameplay mechanics are refreshing, even if a bit repetitive after a while (the lack of diversity in terms of ennemies doesn't help).
I don't think the comparisons I keep seeing with XCom are that accurate, at least regarding the fighting/battle system.
I've always liked the Alien universe, even though I am far from being a die-hard fan of it. It was nice to discover some new lore about it.
An overall nice AA game.

A great way to let off some steam.
A brutal action-packed game with a very 2010s vibe.
I love the settings of "fantasy western", and here you're fighting vampires with electric gauntlets.
The moves and weapons are varied.

You see the limits of the "AA" game in the lack of beautiful and very distinct environment from one level to another.
Despite the multiplayer option, the lack of an arena mode is a shame in a game which interest mostly relies on its fighting gameplay mechanisms.

Early Access Review
16/20.

I have never played the Deep Rock Galactic original game, but I've recently discovered the roguelike/shoot'em up genre and had the feeling this game would not disappoint. I was not wrong, even in early access.

Downside? Well, you know this type of game, it's quite... repetitive. By essence.

First time I ever played a roguelike... and I've got no regret!
Bought it on early access because it was cheap and I randomly see a video about this game on my Youtube recommandations that gave me the desire to try this game, mostly for the RPG elements of it.

The mechanisms are great, and everything is working smoothly, for a game developed by such a small team.
Only downside is that it's an early access, with relatively little content, but the developers are dropping new content every two months approximately. Everything is coming, slowly but surely!

Pleasant surprise.
I was expecting the game to be an AAA game set in the Star Wars universe, which is always kind of a plus (let's not lie), but it actually does more than good graphics and aesthetics.
The gameplay is really good and offers many possibilities without being too complex.
Set on higher difficulties, some fights can even be a real challenge, if you're really into Dark Souls-like challenges.
The story is interesting and doesn't go full overkill despite the potential big implications for the whole universe. I now can't wait to play the second game, that I'll get as soon as I can.

The recreation of the Warhammer 40.000 universe and atmosphere is really on point, all throughout the game.
If you love this kind of "X-COM" T-RPG, the gameplay mechanisms are captivating and hard enough to master.

The main drawback for me was the lack of diversity: you're facing Nurgle spawns, from the beginning to the end... DLC unreleasing new Chaos Gods seemed obvious and were greatly hoped, but the first DLC has dropped and it has not really gone that way... It just makes this otherwise great game redundant as you will end up facing the same enemies over and over on the same kind of maps with the same strategies and objectives...

I just wish they made that game with an AAA budget which would have allowed them to implement much more content. You see Khorne armies and the Eldars at one point... It would have been amazing to actually have them in the whole game.
