Before I begin, it should be noted that this is not the third installment of Wolfenstein. The devs explained that this is meant to be a side-game to set up the events of Wolfenstein 3 to come in the next 1-3 years.

Is This Game For You?:
This game is MEANT to be played with a friend, so if you could persuade someone to get a copy or pay an extra $10 for the buddy pass for that friend, I strongly recommend you do. This game diverges from the old Wolfenstein games a bit by adding an RPG element. The closest thing I can think of is Destiny, but then again I haven't really played Destiny.

The Pros:
After finishing this game with a friend, I would be lying if I said this was a bad game. It runs very well, save for some ping, the action is fast and diverse, giving you a more efficient stealth path to take and an equally effective run-and-gun path, the story is at least up to par with Machine Games legacy, which has been very affective and interesting, and the graphics and writing are very well done. The level design is also very tight. I never found myself stuck in a certain place very long because the level will give subtle hints as to what to do or where to go, never really telling you the path to go down, but never leaving you clueless. It should be noted that I am a fan of the current series, with 40+ hours total logged on the last two iterations, so my opinion may be swayed by this somewhat.

The Cons:
SPOILER >>>>> I wasn't a big fan of the ending, but it was fine for a filler game. It's so small of a problem for me that I was considering not putting it in this review . The RPG element may be a little upsetting to those who are going in expecting the story-driven vigor of the last two games, but this game isn't supposed to be that. Please know that this game isn't part of the priority series if you are thinking of getting this game. Connection errors may stop your playthrough, so be weary of who is hosting. I haven't played with the AI, but I'm willing to bet it's not that great, so please find a friend to play with. Yes, there are microtransactions, but you really don't need them. You'll get along fine if you play strategically in terms of your leveling.

OPINION:
I loved the story and side-quests. The controls were very tight and I had no problems whatsoever with glitches, although my friend did. They were mostly due to the fact that my internet is bad. I truly don't care about the RPG element. It doesn't really change the fact that you corpse-ify Nazis much of the same way you would normally. The two main characters are well-written and should be given a chance. Now, I know that you might not want to play as a girl. I disagree with your reasoning for that, but that's not the point. Trust me, they feel like normal people. Surprisingly, their dialogue wasn't as cringy as I was thinking it would be by a long shot.

FINAL STATEMENT:
I very much recommend this game to you, but heed my advice. I feel like what I advised will make your experience much better

Planetary Annihilation is a great game, one of the best real-time war simulation games on the market.
