It's bad enough to use scummy business practices for a relatively average game but then releasing that game filled with stupid bugs and freezes due to poor optimization is insane behaviour. Playing the rouste footbal mini-game? freeze once you start controlling your third character that cannot be avoided(trust me I tried),combat? freeze again and stutter like you're about to crash just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles and give the user a minor heart attack. Not to mention most things in this game are designed to be annoyingly tedious to pad out playtime. Many have said their piece about this game already but I couldn't help but want to still comment on it because there is a very very cool idea here,being a mercenary your own little posse building relation,getting stronger and making your camp grow it's all interesting. Some stories in the world and the choices you can make between them is interesting too but this game constantly shoots itself in the foot because of some classes being straight up superior to their other counterparts and some quest rewards being straight up worse than the other option in certain times,I gave this game more than an enough chance but constantly seeing something cool only to be greeted by ''HEY BUY OUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC'' kept annoying me (who had the genius idea to put in dlc ads into the base game I will never know) and after I got softlocked by freezing in a stupid football minigame and saw that I had no recent save I just decided that it is not worth it man,this game is the biggest timewaster of the century even simple acts get so so so tedious.

many have already said their piece and this game has been cause of a lot of heated arguments and discussions already to the point I have nothing new to add just go read about why a lot of people including me were very disappointed by this game online or the most liked negative reviews here on steam.
Especially as someone who has bought it 1-2 days after it came out the overhype around this game is mind-boggling.

The gameplay loop is great...gets a little stale once you unlock everything but that may just be because of my early access grinding and thus maybe a personal issue so take it with a grain of salt,still a pretty enjoyable gameplay experience though and definetely felt different enough from hades 1 to be interesting.

BUT

All that buildup,All those little story hints,themes and breadcrumbs for an ending and post-game like this?

I am sure many far more gifted with words have said their piece on this but by the gods I expected better after so much time and effort...it felt like the story was carefully handcrafted with love and passion,carefully weaved with a golden needle only then for them to just burn the whole thing with a lighter as they reached the ending.

(Spoilers below,a long personal rant that is my personal opinion and yours may wary.)

Hypnos is a massive joke that requires two incantations and was personally not even funny(Goddess of nightmares? Sleep incarnate? come on it was right there and we don't even see certain characters like thanatos despite him having a keepsake)

The whole timey-wacky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that happens at the end leaving so many plotpoints,inconsistencies and we don't even ''kill time'' to get our vengeance he and zagreus just appearently lives an alternate life melinöe doesn't even experience and becomes a happy positive goody-two shoes guy while Melinoe gets nothing out of it and while people are obviously suspicious they are far too chill having him around after all that talk about killing him and all the scorn he has gained from literally everyone his come-uppance is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ small and the resolution is not satisfying in the slightest,

Melinöe for one should have been way way more mad that zagreus after all that let him live and possibly even lash out to cronos a little bit and insist on his death (while she is for the most part level-headed and a calm reasonable individual this person has robbed her of literally everything from the moment of her birth and has been training for this her whole life like a soldier not only is this literally her life's purpose,everything she has been doing and training for has led to this particular moment not to mention from her eyes just mere moments ago cronos the person who she has a very very deep seated hatred for threatened her with harm coming to Hecate which is a mother figure to her and she has like three dialogues being upset and that's it? she starts calling him grandpa? overall I think everyone was way too calm and accepting of the outcome even if they are skeptical at the end I felt as if it wasn't enough,and they needed to be a little madder.)

Nemesis is just a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to melinöe the whole time with little to no pushback and never once grows/apologizes or even expresses any remorse for all the ♥♥♥♥ she does and says atleast eris completely owns upto being a ♥♥♥♥ and even if she jokes about it a lot she knows why people treat her the way she is treated because she is a ♥♥♥♥ and that in my opinion is infinetely more charming than the holier than thou attitude nemesis has how did they manage to make the concept of retrubition herself just plain boring and annoying?(I who normally like evil,rude and unhinged characters both from a story,character and personal enjoyment standpoint just rolled my eyes everytime she spoke,how does anyone even stand to be around her for an eternity willingly? or why isn't anyone calling her out on her ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a more harsh or firm manner?)

The theme of gods being cruel and unjust to mortals is sprinkled through the story and acknowledged more than once and melinöe herself takes notice of it multiple times and it doesn't go anywhere besides arachne's story line and even then the petty cruel comments of athena,poseidon,apollo,zeus are never challenged by Melinöe who has been observing all these gods talking about mortals in such a manner the whole game whenever the topic of mortals come up,arachne is one of the earliest companions Melinöe meets she is supposed to be her friend (they even subtly flirt with eachother) and not only does she never outright challenge athena in her commentary of her supposed friend all she can do is beg athena and make meeting where arachne has to beg her tormentor to get her human form back which arachne obviously doesn't want to do and tells her off and athena then dooms her to stay as she is,they both even talk about being surprised athena spared arachne after such a comment...if athena did decide arachne's comment deserved retrubition would melinöe just stand there? would she even defend arachne from athena's wrath? Mel is friends with (Arachne, Pandora, Echo) who were all royally screwed over by the gods and for the most part she doesn't challenge the gods about any of their suffering most of the time. (I personally think it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that there is no other way to restore arachne's form,the poison was from hecate and she cannot help really? melinöe has brought forth incantations that can literally unmake the father of all monsters but cannot turn a spider into a human? Circe the witch of CHANGING cannot help in any way? there is like 4 high tier witches Melinöe,Medea,Circe,Hecate and she just can't ally with them and help her friend? I think that lore reason was kind of weak after we just literally erased typhon don't you think? like there must be some way other than athena since melinöe makes crazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happen in that cauldron all the time,she literally made a new arm for herself and you're telling me she can't help arachne in any way?)

Chronos doesn't mind his children put him in a pit torn apart, they don't mind that he attacked them all and trapped them, Persephone is fine she didn't get to raise her other kid, Mel is fine that her whole youth was wasted on training that didn't matter but literally why?

that hotspring scene where it is revealed that hecate is a melinöe from another timeline or a melinöe from a different time or something like that? completely ruined the nuance and personality of the character and cheapened the story even more so for me,I am so sick of multiverse/multi-timeline ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because it makes everything feel cheap when it is done well I can atleast be okay with it hell sometimes I even like it depending on the story and the direction of the writers because it can genuinely be something cool and interesting but rarely is it done well in most media and by the gods this one was not done well in the slightest

Prometheous was far less involved than he should have been and all of the OG cast who were shown to be trapped they don't even appear in the background, Than, Meg, Dusa, Achilles why didn't they get brought back with Zag,Hades and Persephone? where are they?

I still can't believe they sidelined Melinöe in her own game in favor of Zagreus breaking a ''vicious cycle'',I love both characters but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ really man?(Use your words as a theme was great for the first game,it doesn't work as great for cronos...you know? they guy who tried to take over everything and tried to kill everyone or imprison them for eternity?)
I know that Zag is a moral guy who gives people the benefit of the doubt and likes resolving conflicts with words but he has been told in Hades 1 that he is a bad guy by his father now there's his sister also saying he's a bad guy literally from the future saying if you don't kill him we are ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
He ended up just being nothing but a plot device.

I want you to keep in mind everything I have said is not in any way supposed to make you hate the game or supposed to be law I put 112 hours into this game and I am just pissed off after all that this was the end result...you may disagree or agree about this game's story I am personally disappointed,supergiant doesn't miss often and both the game upto this point and hades 1 have been very great and enjoyable but it's clear now when they miss they miss ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and I can't recommend this.

the game itself can be fun but don't even try to employ strategy,the rng is so prominent it ultimately doesn't matter that much what you do,if you are lucky you are going to win and if you are not even if you do everything right you are going to lose.

Made itself my one of favorite games.

was having much fun until ı got to samo's set ı lit the squibs and the torch disappeared but the guard didn't move and ı couldn't click on the squibs and got locked from progressing still the game is real fun go check it out just be prepared for bugs Edit:Even after they sent me a fixed save file ı can't progress ı am just unable to progress

really good story and design would recommend
