Much better than the first game in almost every way. Way more bosses, a lot of variety of them. Side quests actually feel meaningful now, theres few of them that actually better than the main quests, and the music and acting are top notch. The optimization is also impressive considering how good the game looks.
But, bigger doesn’t mean better. The game throws a huge amount of gear at you, but most of it feels unnecessary, you just don’t end up using it. So what is the point of delivering packages? You will get a patch and hologram at the end. For example, things like lighter stands feel pointless when the roads are already packed with generators and other structures. And there's so much stuff like this, with weapons, other structures etc
Also, just like the first game, there’s a lot of backtracking especially toward the end, last few chapters of you game you just getting tossing around the map because magellan can’t move
Still, it’s an amazing game, so much hidden in story reveals at the end

This game honestly went from one of the best games I’ve played to one of the most soulless open world, time consuming sponge, pathetic RDR2, ZELDA knockoff, wannabe game
At the start, it’s amazing. The game looks just insanely good, there are so many moments where you just stop and look around. The mix of medieval fantasy with some tech stuff is pretty cool, and the world feels quitealive with all the different races, side quest feels good at first, cool to go around and complete stuff. There are tons of bosses too, like a lot. The Abyss gear system is nice and lets you experiment with builds, letting you create the build you want, the camp management stuff is kind of interesting too, probably the strongest part of the game for me, sending greymanes to earn stuff, complete quests to change locations visually, selling things with wagons, farm animals, make yourself a ranch
But after that… it just falls into piece of trash voidout
After around 50 hours, it gets insanely uninteresting. You’re basically forcing yourself to find something fun to do. Most side quests are just go here, grab this, deliver this and the rewards are usually useless pretty quickly, those pouches don’t matter once your inventory is maxed. The only quest thats actually have some sense in it is faction quests with all the Lords clans
Bounty hunting sounds cool at first, but it’s not. You catch a guy, spam one button to make him surrender(why?), and that’s it. Also taking notes from quest board around the world completely failing the quest, just because Pearl Abyss decided to do so, no reason at all. Kliff barely talks, so half the time he’s just silently beating people up and staring at them. Then you take them to prison, the same one every time, and hear the same lines over and over, so i recommend turn the volume of the game down and just turn music on if you planning on doing these wannabe rdr2 bounties
And the main story? It’s not just bad, its straight up terrible. It feels like the game is trying way too hard to be rdr2 with those slow horse rides where characters talk about random, pointless stuff. With all these cutscenes, even quest designs. But instead of feeling immersive, it just feels awkward and boring
What makes it worse is that Kliff barely talks at all in all of them. Because of that, the game turns into a skip cutscene simulator. You end up skipping almost every cutscene, miniscene, and dialogue because theres nothing engaging about them. Its obvious he was supposed to have more lines, NPCs literally pause mid conversation like they’re waiting for him to respond, but he just… doesn’t.
Boss fights are also frustrating more than fun. You get knocked down constantly, get frozen, hit by the the same stuff over and over again. In the end, you just spam the same combo because thats what the game pushes you to do with gear. Theres no real satisfaction in fighting them, and the rewards don’t feel worth it.
You will get a pointless sword because theres no difference between them in stats, only abyss gear matters, or a shield which is literally i have no idea who is using them
Performance is another big problem. If you don’t have a 5000 card, the game just feels bad to play, your eyes will hurt a lot, and eventually you will start to getting headaches. You have to turn on reconstruction just to make it look how it should normally look, which is sending this amazing game from 80 FPS to 15, just to give your eyes a rest. Pearl Abyss is still not responding to this issue, and most likely they will keep avoiding it, because this game was supposed to work only on high end stuff
All they did is opened metacritic, choose most rated games ever, made them worse, with probably the most broken shadow and texture problems ive ever seen in gaming, and released it. But still, its so addicting i dunno why and will put more hours into it just because of the world ig

Angry bald man throws axe, yells "BOY", starts another god level family drama
Beat this game multiple times on ps5. It’s better than the 2018 in almost every way, even though 2018 had a slightly stronger story. Ragnarok delivers on almost everything I was hoping for, way more boss variety(70% of 2018 bosses is just Trolls) all 9 realms, new weapon, amazing FREE dlc which is expanding the story, and a ton of “wow” moments and twists
My only complaint about the game is Ragnarok itself, it felt rushed. I was hoping for an Endgame level finale where realms collapse and gods bleed everywhere, but its basically 2 minutes with Odin's army and then final boss fight which was also felt a bit boring. Also, justice for Jormungandr, my man carried the 2018 game just by his aura, and he barely gets any screen time, just 2 minutes of cutscenes. Still, this game is phenomenal. Runs insanely well for a ps5 port game, looks incredible, and there’s a reason the rarest trophy is at 10%. Just play it

No story, no physics, just bunnyhopping around and praying for good items. It takes everything I love from vampire survivors and fixes what annoyed me in ror2. Basically vampire survivors with some things from ror2 but also in 3D and somehow the best $7 I’ve spent. Super addicting.
The only thing I hate is the lack of item variety. No matter the build, you end up using the same items every run

It’s disappointing how a 2008 game still run like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Even after six years since the release of the Complete Edition, the performance issues is still there. To get stable gameplay, you’re basically HAVE TO, i said YOU HAVE TO youre FORCED to install mods like FusionFix and DXVK, regardless of how good your PC is, or you will see constant stutters and lag every 2 seconds. Underneath all of that, this game is still great, but not the pc version ig

Install mods to fix the game. 60fps cap? Install a mod to uncap it. Achievements not working with mods? Install a mod for it. Oh wait you cant jump while sprinting? Install a mod to fix this. Install QoL mods. Install UI mod. Install unofficial patches. Install mods just to make it comfortable to play. Then you get hard stuck on a amazing story quest. Use console commands to fix it. Install more patch mods.
Oh wait... graphics is a bit dated? Install graphics mods.
Wait, hold on, again... Mods conflict with the mods that were supposed to fix the game? Now fix your mods instead of playing the game

Photo Mode Simulator
Pandora looks absolutely stunning, and half the time you’ll just be stopping to take screenshots. But unfortunately, visuals are kind of the main thing carrying the game
The world doesn’t really feel alive, it barely reacts to you, na'vi doing same thing over and over again, and you keep seeing the same RDA enemies spawning over and over again at same spots.
Optimization, surprisingly isn’t terrible. It does dip below 30 FPS in some areas, but overall not so bad
I’d say this game is worth buying only on a big discount, and mainly if you at least somewhat love James Cameron’s Avatar. If you don’t care about the universe, the visuals alone probably won’t be enough to keep you hooked
