I love this game

Growing up on Medieval 1, and spoiled by the more modern titles, never played this one. I find turning back the dial, taking a much slower approach, and humbling yourself really, is much required to appreciate the old school game mechanics of this early warscape title, really helps overcome the bugs and weird design choices.

Streamline your armies, unit card clutter is abysmal. A tip for organizing unit cards: There seems to be an in-game hierarchy of Cavalry, Artillery, and infantry captains. When organizing your units make sure they are captain of their own army first before shuffling them into a stack, best to move them around one by one in your preferred sequence.

I think unit experience is also factored but I haven't checked, seems to make it impossible to organize fleets, though again thats my fault for not learning the quirk. Way worse than medieval 2's.. Its a never-ending battle for those with OCD like traits lol.

Be frugal and smart with research, very easy to ♥♥♥♥ up your economy beyond repair without careful planning, moreso than the other titles I think.. More importantly don't waste movements, be very efficient with the old school controls in battle, the newer games encourage alot of micro and button mashing, makes it much more enjoyable.

It is made very obvious this is the bridge between Medieval 2 and Shogun 2 gameplay wise... Makes for a very enjoyable campaign experience. Land Battles take forever and are more meaningful. Naval is peak. Settlement development is very unique, its like a combination of thrones of britannia region system and Medieval 2's lassiez-faire uber growth.

Yeah you can still exploit the AI and blitz them in minimal turns. Don't skip out on empire dear total war Autists

Mistlands brought a good amount of content but god what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow update cycle. Shame its not really optimized for multiplayer but that seems to be a major trend among survival indie dev studios. "Hey lets ♥♥♥♥ up our worthless attempt at multiplayer so anything beyond a boring ass 8 player lobby is unplayable!" I don't think the dev team knows what theyre doing half the time and thats ok, take it for what it is.

Cool final battle, but there is a stupid glitch at the end of the game where after Alyx hugs her dead dad the screen goes black. This bug has been unpatched for 9 years and counting now... WTF VALVE !!!!!!! ??? !!
