Come on. The most profitable entertainment product of any kind in human history - for a reason. The single player campaign is fun, and the Online component has immense depth. You can spend thousands of hours in this game, easily, and the expansions just keep coming. Even now, years after release, it holds up well visually, and gameplay itself is satisfying and fun.

Destiny 2 is a fun game, with a huge amount of legacy content in there for new players - enough, in fact, that it' s hard to focus on the latest content, sometimes - and you can join in for free nowadays. Would I recommend it at full AAA price? Maybe. For free, sure. Get in and try it. (And start with the Red War campaign to get up to speed, even though you have to go to the hangar and manually get it from the Amanda character there; they don't push new players that way sufficiently in my opinion, it helps to give context.) Alas, they took that out, the new player experience has suffered some. But, there's at least something in the Cosmodrome.

Of course, if you like it and want the full experience, "free" goes out the window and you have to buy the Shadowkeep some DLC at least, and probably Forsaken, so now we're in AAA game price territory anyway.

Plus, all the cosmetics in game cost a fortune, the pricing is wacky high in my opinion, too. Still, it's a fun looter shooter game with a decent story and polished visuals. It's worth trying, and if you like it, worth paying some money for.

The first hit is free. Staying in costs some money. Get it, try it, see for yourself. I'm hooked.
