I'm going to start off by saying my history with Halo and how I became a fan. I've been playing these games since I was a child and started with H2 and later moved on to H3 upon release like most people who had a 360 back in the day. Both of those games where excellent and over all ground breaking for their time. This game was released on the 360 back in 2010 so this game is almost 10 years old, that being said, it's aged very well. H3 and Reach still look phenomenal to this day. I highly recommend someone who has never played a Halo game to purchase this and immediately jump into the campaign(s) as the content that is going to be within this is ever bit worth the $40 price tag. It's a wonderful experience and very eye opening to how complete games once where upon release.
I am now going to get into the things that aren't necessarily bad but are definitely aggravating for someone who plays this mainly for the competitive aspect. I have put almost 40 hours of game play in only HC/Comp since release and I am mainly a competitive PC player who uses KB/M. Players who use controller have an unfair advantage because of the internal aim assist given to them especially within HC/Competitive mode with no bloom & DMR start. Again, this isn't a bad thing and I'm in no way against aim assist but it's way too overpowered ngl. The next thing is the fact that this is a port of the original game. All kinds of issues revolve around this because the game wasn't designed, coded and optimized for PC. This post made by u/conrad179 thoroughly explains an issue that will most likely never be resolved by 343: https://www.reddit.com/r/MCCPC/comments/e702mk/halo_reachmcc_pc_the_reason_why_100_framerate/. Essentially, people with 144hz or 240hz monitors and extremely powerfuly computers will not even be able to take advantage of having a high fps. The characters animations are locked to 60fps and so is the movement. The last thing is the hosts of the matches, it's god awful. The servers automatically choose a host and if the host is far away from you, for example the states vs Europe you and your team is they aren't from Europe already have an unfair advantage.
This game is honestly just a cash grab for 343 until the release of Infinite next year. This will just die out and fade away once it's release and most of the issues will most likely never be resolved. With these things in mind I still can't recommend the game enough because it really is something else. It's just very sad to see that if the game was initially a PC title like Counter-Strike and Quake instead of a console title the game would probably be a massive E-Sports title today.

TL;DR: The game itself is amazing and most people are drawn in by nostalgia for a good reason. Controller players have a massive advantage over pc players even though the title is for pc. The game is a port and has issues because of this for example, not utilizing your fps correctly, locked 60fps animations. Could be competing with Counter-Strike but wasn't a pc title initially. (Dying out like Quake)
