Short and brilliant! Another banger from Nama Takahashi, who really knows his puzzle games design, absolutely love this game as well as Elechead!

I recently finished both Jump King and Getting Over It and those games are unironically less frustrating to me than some of the moments in Silksong (and those games were INTENTIONALLY MADE to be frustrating)
How in the holy bad game design have Team Cherry managed to do it? Nobody knows

Great art/music/SFX/world building tho, best in class even. Too bad some of the game design is so atrocious. Combat is like 90% incredible deadly dance 10% unfun frustrating punishing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ruining the rest

The Last Judge fight and the runback to it is the tipping point that finally made me drop the game for a while. Running for 45 seconds over and over again to be killed literally in 2 hits by a boss you don't even know the patterns of yet is just beyond ridiculous lol. I want to get good at this game but it actively punishes me for trying

Overall it's really disappointing that this game was so incredibly close to greatness and the bad parts were all sooooo easily avoidable, and yet here we are :/

Don't be deceived my my hours count: I actually suck ass at pixel-art, but I always have Aseprite open in the background while I code my game just so that I can quickly export a 32x32 filled white square if I ever need one

This game is incredible! Scratches that tactics/card game-y itch like no other.

It's like Into the Breach, but from a different view and you can actually dodge ~95% of hits, so most of the damage taken is actually your fault and you could've calculated beforehand and avoided the mistake

Really clever and really fun. The music slaps and combined with the setting really makes you feel like a badass ninja dodging hits and outplaying enemies left and right

Overall the EA left me wanting more content because this game is the real ♥♥♥♥

This game is really good!
I am very much into indie pixel-art platformers, and I can say that I enjoyed Jubilee a lot! :D
It's a fun little game that just has you running rapidly through all these different locations with really fun and diverse mechanics that always swap out before you get bored

The controls are really smooth, which is really hard to get right, but the dev totally nailed it!

When you die, it always feels like your fault and not the game's (except for like 2 moments where the location-specific mechanics combine with the level terrain to make for a slightly annoying obstacle)

It's just really fun and relaxing for the most part, and provides just enough chanllenge to get stuck for a bit, but beat it without getting really frustrated.
There are optional challenges that are the toughest thing that the game has to offer, and you can just come back to them later after beating the base game or just ignore them altogether

It's not the rage kind of precision platformer

Although the world is non-linear, the checkpoints are scattered just all throughout the map and so most of the time you'll just gonna be playing these micro-levels with checkpoints on both sides, which is a nice way of world-building I haven't seen before!

I did beat it True Ending in only 2h, but it would most definitely take someone less experienced in platformers more time. Also 100%'ing it would also probably add an hour or so of gameplay if you wanted to go for it

For the aestetics:
The pixel-art is pretty pleasant. Got this old/nostalgia look to it.
The music is always fitting and suits a nice background for the gameplay, which is absolutely king in Jubillee.
The SFX are stylish and are a good addition to everything else.

Overall the game just has a lot of small touches of polish in all the different places that make your gameplay more convenient and reduce the annoying stuff in precision platformers (like the sign that tells you there are spikes below the screen, or the collectibles counter for each area, or the fast travel (which is actually a big one), or the single jump button bound to all of the controller's face buttons, etc. etc.)

Again, huge props to the dev for making this, hope this game does well and I'm looking forward to hopefully a next release from the guy!

The game is really good, but unfortunately the sheer amount of bugs breaks the immersion into its world (which is very well built) and sometimes can even make it unplayable by permanently corrupting your save files :(

I really strongly suggest you either pick up Nykra right now and just not touch it for quite some time (you will enjoy it much much more this way), or put it on your wishlist, set a reminder for yourself for a couple weeks or whatever and just pick it up as soon as it gets stable

P.s. I will edit this review when I'll be able to actually finish playing the game (as of now my save got corrupted around chapter 5-6)
