Fun game :) I liked it

good game

Game itself is fantastic - put a bit over 100 hours on the PS5 version. Port is better than recent major projects by Square Enix but is still not perfect. Was experiencing some stuttering/hitching in cutscenes and screen tearing in game play until I messed with the settings. Doing this fixed hitching as well as screen tearing for me:

Set both Dynamic Resolution Scaling minimum and maximum to 100%, set frame rate cap to 120fps, use VRR instead of V Sync, use DLSS for Anti Aliasing

Doing this has resulted in no real hitching or stuttering for me, though because you're using DLSS for AA, you'll get some ghosting in situations like the animations in the pause menu. Would've liked to seen this type of thing figured out prior to launch but it shows up very minimally in gameplay for me at least so I can deal with it over stuttering. If the ghosting bothers you too much, TAAU resulted in less stuttering overall, but did not completely get rid of it. For reference my machine specs are as follows:

i9-13900K
Nvidia RTX 4080 (non super)
64 GB RAM
with a 4k 120Hz monitor that supports G-Sync for VRR

Hope this helps if you were experiencing the same issues I was and hopefully Square can continue to improve on their PC porting ability. Overall, if messing with graphics settings to get your game running perfectly is not your speed and you are someone who is bothered by micro-stuttering, hitching or screen tearing, I'd say pass on this one until a patch or mod support becomes more widely available. However, if you're willing to mess around with graphics settings, this game is definitely worth picking up as it looks beautiful in motion, has top notch game play and an absolutely mesmerizing story to tell and world to explore.
