While I harbour a sense of disappointment, tempered by the wisdom and cynicism that come with age, I find this endeavour to be somewhat lacking. My nostalgia, akin to nearsightedness, fondly recalls the originals and the excellence of ‘Deserts of Kharak,’ yet regrettably, I lacked the motivation to complete this campaign. The megalith mechanic, though a commendable concept, felt intrusive and required further refinement. Ships, unfortunately, blended into a homogeneous sea of indistinct silhouettes, devoid of uniqueness. The brisk pace of play sacrificed the ponderous, epic ambience I once cherished. Alas, the narrative failed to captivate my interest.

In my humble estimation, it appears that the enchantment inherent in the original works often stems from the constraints imposed by their historical context. These limitations, which may have been perceived as compromises at the time, ultimately yielded something truly distinctive. Regrettably, subsequent attempts to revisit these creations often overlook the invaluable contributions these constraints made to the final masterpiece. Consider, for instance, Peter Jackson’s experience with ‘The Lord of the Rings.’ The technological limitations of the era compelled him to approach many aspects practically, even if it meant compromising his artistic vision. When technology finally caught up with his imagination, ‘The Hobbit’ emerged. Arguably, the constraints placed upon him during ‘The Lord of the Rings’ production resulted in a more authentic and grounded experience than what ‘The Hobbit’ could achieve.

Started out pretty well, then for some reason they started releasing these patches that make the game progressively worse. I'm not sure if this is some new marketing strategy developed by the deep learning algorithms at AGS, perhaps its intention is too reduce server load/stability by lowering the number on concurrent players online. If so, it is performing admirably!

The mechanics and style of this game are remarkable so early in its development. Playing it feels complete already, cant wait for more content to get piled in! Roaming the dunes in my walker is enough to keep you engrossed for hours even at this early stage!
