Early Access Review
I have just finished the first campaign (3 chapters). It is a very good game given it is still in early access. I did not encounter any crash (10 hours of playtime according to Steam) although one of the tool tips looks like the programming commands are still showing. Very stable. It is a procedural generated story that is very personal to each of your heroes and the story, while has an overall arc, grows organically based on your choice and decisions. It is *your* story based on your "head canon" of how these heroes played out. I believe it has replayability although I have not gone through the second round. Someone says it has a strong tabletop RPG feel and I completely agree. It was what sold me and it delivers. So if you want a light, solo TTRPG experience, this is the game! I bought it at the summer sale for less than US$10 and I spent only 10 hours so far. So a buck an hour (probably less if I play more) is a very good entertainment value!

A great therapeutic game! No pressure and completely chill, cozy game. Best if you are beside the fireplace in the snowy winter having a hot chocolate! Be kind!

I just completed all 5 adventures. It was fun while it last. Get boring towards the end. Great potential but it was too short. Hope it adds more adventures or have more random events. While it may look random a la FTL at first, it gets repetitive quickly. I ended up skipping a lot of encounters because they are just more fights. The non-fight encounters utilizing your skills perks are more interesting. I would recommend if you like simplified Jagged Alliance 1 mixed in with Indiana Jones. If you expect FTL complexity, look elsewhere. Still good game to kill time.

This is the first time I write a review on Steam. Prey is a very thought provoking game. The execution, the story, the atmosphere is great. I spent over 138 hours on this game. I have never done a second play-through of any game. This is my first game that I played the second time back to back. This game when I first started was very spooky, and I have to check every object and every corner and it has a few jump scare. I am not a big fan of jump scare type of game. I almost gave up in the first few hours and was tempted to move on. I read a number of review and decided to push through. No regrets on that! Couple of advice: 1) it can get slow and feel helpless when you first started... don't give up. It gets better after you get your proper head gear. 2) Don't read any spoiler! The story gets better and it is more thought provoking if you did not read ahead!

The only thing that I think need some improvement is the game balancing. You get to be super powerful later on and the feeling of helplessness is gone so it does not keep you on the edge as much as the beginning. My second play-through is not as fun using the new game + mode as I am already maxed out in the human ability tree so it was easy. I am just pushing through and do trophies where convenient. I have yet to try Mooncrash but I heard great things about the rogue-like set up. I will probably take a break from Prey for awhile before going back. Good luck and I highly recommend it!
