Essentially unlimited replayability, lovely visual style, and tons of fun build options. Unique playstyle for mages involves interacting with environment. Themes let you transform your body and totally change how your character looks and plays. Personalities and hooks influence the ways your characters act and which stories and choices are available to them. Interesting twist on permadeath involves your character surviving but gaining a heavy debuff or dying but dishing out damage or a buff before they go. Multiplayer with up to four other people. Mod support.

If you're a fan of roguelikes, games like XCOM or Wasteland, or both, this is highly, highly recommended.

It's okay, I guess. Haven't played enough to really have an opinion.

You're having fun, learning to hate people, or both simultaneously.

I want to recommend this game but I can't.

It has a strong start but a weak finish. Characters largely have one personality trait and that defines them. Furniture items are too small to really differentiate. You have the ability to sculpt the land, yet to make people happy some things need to be a certain way. Sure, you can move it back afterwards, but you have to undo the progress you made whenever a new person moves in.

The world is very thinly expanded on and going to every different location for daily grinding gets tedious after a while. Once you get max stats and can unlock the special rewards, they are very underwhelming.

The game is very charming and is initially very fun but the longer it's played, the sooner the charm wears off and the more quickly the tedium emerges.

This game is hard to describe because it is so many things at once. There really is no other game like it, and the art style is one of a kind.

Post apocalyptic futuristic ancient Japan open world sandbox RTS RPG city builder in a grim setting with grey and black morality at best. The factions, of which there are many, are usually settlements, raider groups, or groups associated with the three big factions (who are all evil in their own way), both groups assisting them and fighting them. It frequently touches on some topics like racism, sexism, slavery, etc. so keep that in mind.

It also has plenty of comedy scattered about, especially in some of the unique companions you can find (especially a community favorite). It helps if you can appreciate dark humor.

If all of this sounds appealing to you, definitely grab it. Even at full price, the amount of time you'll put into it is well, well worth the price.

Oh, and prepare to die. A lot. ;)

Pretty much what would happen if an MMO had a pricing system like Sims 4 where every tiny slice of content costs as much as an actual game.

Technically you get all the DLC if you fork over the subscription fee every month, otherwise as a free user you have to buy the constant stream of new stuff just to stay up to date.

These things aren't even expansion-sized yet they're priced like expansions. They're basically what would be portions of expansions in other MMOs, except broken up and pieced out to be sold individually.

It's a ridiculous pricing model.

This game is great if you love mechs but also love to make yourself suffer for every mistake you make.

Such a great tribute to the RBY games. Music is great, story is surprisingly adult and dark at times, lots of little secrets to discover. Creatures have creative designs although some are just recolors. Post-game is there but is mostly restricted to a Battle Tower, seeking out the equivalent of the game's legendaries, and doing a few fusions to get the rarest ones, which can end up being a bit of a grind. UI and controls are a bit awkward but once you get used to them they aren't too hard to figure out.

Overall I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Definitely worth picking up at full price if you're a fan of mongames.

36 possible classes. A ton of different elemental damage types to vary your builds (you can have a rogue that focuses on cold damage, for example). Equipment with modifiers to change the damage type of an ability (a lightning ability will do fire damage) increasing your build flexibility and creating virtually unlimited options. A devotion system that basically functions as a third class, giving you stat buffs and abilities tied to your current abilities (a damaging ability from the devotion tree can be attached to a ranged attack, allowing you to make your ranged attack more powerful). A storyline that, while it's not as deep as it could be, is surprisingly interesting if you follow the bits of lore scattered about. It's detailed enough to give you a sense of the world, but vague enough to leave a lot up to imagination.

A few marks against it include the two learning curves, especially at the start. You have the learning curve when you just start the game and are learning the systems, and then the second learning curve as you hit late game and you are introduced to new mechanics and extremely difficult bosses. There are also no procedurally generated maps, so every playthrough has the same path. Also, with regards to enemy resistances, you're often required to run abilities that lower resistance in order to increase your damage, limiting optimal build diversity.
