A game that truly makes you feel what is it like being a woman. Remarkable.

The fact that the game makes it quite difficult to ride a bicycle around makes us feel the difficulty of being a woman who can't even make good turns.
Really like how we aren't even allowed to cycle down stairs or even go further the garden point because it is too bumpy followed by her fear of risks, restricting us from the freedom of performing a simple Ollie or a bunny hop.

Quite an allegory to what makes women women.

Everything about this is just beautiful.

How every single element of the game just speaks out loud on how Florence feels, and how every decision you make can also speak a lot about yourself. Almost makes you feel, you are Florence.

And the fact that my man Kevin Penkin is behind the music almost adds up like a cherry on the top.

I do not wish to talk about the story as I believe the game should be able to tell you the story.

But all I have to say is,
Thank you Annapurna Interactive,
Thank you Studio Mountains.

Well I haven't played quite alot of fighting games, but this truly stands out from the rest of all I have played. Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Street Fighter and every other FGs have a health bar system, in which that states your life in one round, while being given several actions to deal a certain damage dedicated to each action or defend yourself from such damage inorder to survive a round. Hyperfight isn't like that. One hit, and you are a goner. It feels like a game of rock, paper and scissors, but it still works.

This game doesnt have any health bar system, but a meter system is what makes it really important in the game. If you win a round, by hitting your opponent first, you get a point added into the meter. 5 points to fill the meter, and you win. But here's the catch.

You are given 3 actions, a normal attack, a super attack and a special. You cannot use your special unless you have a point and you cannot use a super attack unless you have 2 points in your meter. Using such attacks consumes the meter based on the number of points dedicated, which is pretty much putting your road to victory on the line just by using such attacks. if you win the round, you get your points back and have one point added for winning. If you fail, you would loose a point or two. Kinda like a super meter, but filling results in a victory.

This game is really fun and really unique to me, but the only issue I have is that the game has very few characters to select. Im pretty sure there would be alot more characters to be added, but this concept of "who punches first wins" can kill the fun really quickly if you dont get to be able to learn alot more and try out any new ways to win a round, since the number of actions in this game is very limited aswell. But overall, it's really fun to play.

Quite a nice chill game to let time pass by while witnessing people's stories being told, although it felt quite short and incomplete. The story did have a complete conclusion, but I guess I wanted to dig in with the characters more. My take on the true ending? It was really unnecessary. Kinda spoiled the entire mood of the game.

But would I recommend this game?
For the slice of life lovers:
Yes. Yes I would.

The game is quite horrifying, but not too horrifying. If you want to play a horror game just for the thrills, then I wouldn't quite suggest this (although there are moments of shock and unsettle-ment). But if you want to play a visual novel, then this is worth the try.

The game may not be competent when it comes to horror, but the story is what makes this game valuable. A moving artpiece that uses multiple symbolisms, enough to give the players an idea of what the world the character has experienced in their life. They are like pieces of a puzzle that gets added on and on as you keep playing, only to reveal in the end what was the real story that was hiding right behind your back all this time.
