Excellent game, similar to MTG (including similar resource system), but without with a more restricted window to interact with your opponent, making the it more streamlined, but a little less deep. It also takes advantage of the digital format to add new mechanics that cannot be implemented IRL (like keeping track of stat buff outside the battlefield).

The F2P progression is nice, if you're willing to play draft. You keep the cards you draft, making the cost of entry effectively low (you pay 5 packs worth of gold to get in, handpick cards from 4 packs, and get 0.5 pack in gold even if you lose all matches). You cannot go infinite without winning 6 or 7 out of 7 matches each time, but you can grind that last bit of gold with AI matches.

I don't love the UI, but it's quite polished. I think the battlefield is too small when there is plenty of real estate wasted with interactables. I'm, also not a huge fan of the cartoonish art style. But these are all small details.

The greatest problem with the game comes from the choice of resource: sigils (similar to mtg lands). Although it gives more depth, being stuck with a bunch of cards and no sigils or vice-versa (MTG "mana screw") can and will lose you a game here and there. These are the moments where I think "this is the one think I don't miss from MTG". Even though the game has a few mechanisms to help prevent this, it still happens, and you have to be prepared to accept it.

Overall, this is an amazing game!
