Early Access Review
Obviously I don't have much time in the game, but I've been playing on 3x server so i'm fairly far in it already.

Good little indie $20 game. Think Legacy Rust but in Medieval times. Very PvP focused, it seems like that only grows as you reach end game. It's pretty rough around the edges so far, but it is literally in Alpha. If it was a free Alpha, I'd be leaving this great reviews, as it stands, worth $20? maybe. Chivalry combat, Rust gameplay, a dedicated small indie team developing it, I don't mind dropping $20 for a week or two of fun. ymmv. 7/10.

EOMM is a curse. Every game you either get a 6 stack of GM's on the other team, or you get 5 of them on your team. There are no close games unless it's in ranked. Do not recommend...

Pretty cool little red hat game. Sometimes it holds your hand, sometimes it seems like it forgets to. You could probably play this with very little knowledge just by following the prompts. Got stuck on a quest that wouldn't finish (it's still a demo, whatever) so I just kept playing around for a bit and had fun.

I vividly remember rushing home from school to try to finish getting my Daedric armor set.

This game gives me the exact same feeling as I had from 15 years ago. I'm not a huge fan of single player RPG's... they just never grab me. Everything now feels unfinished, not as authentic, it never pulls me in and makes me think about it all day until I get home - until this. The cinematic shots, the questline, the characters, the sounds, the entire world feels ALIVE. You have to use eyes and ears and context clues to figure things out, there are 10 different ways to finish every objective, you sleep and eat and take a bath and it just all feels real.

I love it. 10/10. Take a gummy and become a medieval blacksmith for a few hours. You won't regret it.

Early Access Review
EDIT:
Paying a subscription for this seems wild. Changing to subscription based after having people buy the game is insane, and they will never grow the game population like this. There are empty/half built plots all over the place, the game is STILL super early access... like should've been a beta now, now a year ago. Don't recommend at all until they get some ♥♥♥♥ figured out.

I've been playing nonstop since it came out and absolutely loving it, however, I may get bored until more features are added. Market stalls, farming, currency, the whole Knight/Soldier thing (think Bannerlord, before you get a Kingdom and you're a hired mercenary). These changes will either open the game up and make it a genuine competitor, or if done poorly, kill it.

First off, for a $40 game, it is VERY early access. Placeholder combat systems, loot that does nothing currently (@silver fir branch), some minor animation bugs, no monetary system... etc. It is early access. I knew that when I bought the game, I'm happy with it, just warning people who may not enjoy early access games.

That being said, the game is beautiful. I ran lowest possible settings on a 1070ti and got 30 fps (less in uber populated spots like main spawns) and on my 3080 pc, I get ~100 fps on high settings. Beautiful, beautiful game. The map is unreal, massive, with huge mountains and swamps and lakes and forests - it is seriously gorgeous. Building is awesome, you can make entire towns of medieval buildings and castles, or a little witchy apothecary hut in the forest with a pond in the background. It's amazing, since it's mostly PvE, everyone is super nice and helpful, it's just fantastic.

PROS:
-Absolutely beautiful world. It is MASSIVE, with 4 different maps in each shard. Different biomes, loot, etc.
-Social aspect is there, and will just get better.
-I actually like crafting. RNG kinda sucks but it's realistic without being super frustrating.
-Devs are responsive. This is probably my biggest pro on the list. Complaints are made, devs provide a response and if valid, a fix action for that, or a plan to fix it atleast. If you're in their discord, devs are frequently talking in there and providing updates and plans on stuff. I love that. Doesn't seem like a corporate overlord is breathing down their neck (@you, helldivers and Apex.)
-RP players will love this game. RP a blacksmith, a fletcher, a builder, a weaponsmith, a cook, etc. Joining a big guild will toss you in with the other 3 weaponsmiths, and that will be your job.

CONS:
-I would like to see a leveling system. Maybe something similar to Black Desert where it's your total level of all skills or something?
-Combat sucks (It's a placeholder, we'll see how long it takes to fix it.)
-Grindy af. Not really a con in my eyes, I like time sink games, but you will most likely not have armor and a house for a couple days.
-Hard for solos. Definitely meant to be a guild type game, it's very very hard to be a solo in here and get close to endgame.
-Missing a lot of features currently for a $40 game. Once their roadmap pans out, it should be worth the monthly cost they're saying may happen - as of now, it's not at all ready for that, and I think it's scaring people off.. Should've stayed an open/closed beta in my eyes until maybe 3-4 months before Early Access is done.

Early Access Review
TLDR: Early Access game, totally worth $30 to me personally. Has potential to be amazing maybe 6 months-a year down the road.

I'm about 10 hours in so far. I have 4 companions, starting my first outpost as soon as this review is done, and finally getting enough food to thrive. The game system is super cool, reminds me of a Valheim+Enshrouded clone, with the whole companion system of Medieval Dynasty, and combat like Mount & Blade. Slow grind, (I still don't have a full set of tools) but honestly one of the first games that setting a rabbit trap and getting a rabbit feels super rewarding. I really had to work for it. AI is super cool, you basically set them certain jobs, and they just start working (similar to Palworld almost?). I've been really enjoying it. I was hesitant, but am super happy I caved and bought it. Absolutely worth $30 in my book.

Cons:
-Some bugs/QoL changes are needed... For example, food spoils ridiculously fast until you get to mid/late game, arrows sometimes just straight up pass through something, waypoints on the map don't work. Mostly little things. It's an EA game, to be expected, and I'm sure most will be fixed.
-The AI voices are awful. Sounds like the cheapest AI voices you could possibly get, kind of kills immersion and personality for every NPC. (EDIT: heard this is a placeholder just for early access, if so, awesome!)
-Again, waypoints in the map seem to not work for me? Like I just have to open the map every once in awhile and make sure i'm going the right direction. It does have fast travel signs, which will probably eliminate the need for that, but it's a con for sure.
-Dev is supposedly kind of iffy... Just looking around on reddit, a lot of people think this game will be dropped and not get out of EA. I will say, look on the community hub on steam - Devs have had a daily update since it came out. They seem to be fixing bugs and adjusting things left and right, and I have no worries about it.
