Great game overall. Borderlands 2 surpasses far beyond the first entry in the series and is not passed by the third entry. Borderlands 2 is the epitomy of the series and the most enjoyable of the three. There is a sense of loot in the guns and their rarities. This also provides a farming aspect of the game for those who want it, but by no means does completion of the game require farming. There is also an exploration aspect in the secrets hidden throughout the game, whether by hundreds of discoverable symbols placed about the map or by the items that contain little bits and pieces of interesting and humurous side story. The main story line itself is interesting and incredibly hilarious. Once you complete the game once, you have the option to play again with a higher difficulty with the same character, giving you the option to keep upgrading your character and its loadout. This can be done multiple times, each time increasing the difficulty. There is also excellent dlc for the game, each piece well-deserving of its price. There is also dlc that is free albeit smaller. Although a great game alone, playing with friends makes this game the best co-op game I have every played. The co-op function of the game is what made my love this game. I have played this game more than 10 times. Not because of the increasing difficulty, but because each time, I played with a different friend. Every playthrough is different as long as you play with a different person.
