I really enjoyed playing this game when it was a Flash game, but Adobe discontinued that platform.

I was thrilled to find out it was available on Steam, and even better, it was supported for Linux.

The game play is fun, the game tutorials walk you through without being insulting, and overall, the length of the game is fine. I love how you get more and more powerful as you play and the laughter you hear as you place towers amuses me every time.

The downside? My saves randomly delete themselves. For a game that requires multiple sessions and progress, this is unacceptable. If this were resolved, I'd recommend the game, but this is several times where it saved to the Steam Cloud and my progress was gone. I'm going to try local saves only and maybe that will help, but for the moment I must give a thumbs down.

I love this game!

It's got a minimal story but it's worth talking to each character every time just to get the drift of things and also going into the wizard's labs to read the diary, but it's not necessary to do so, but seriously, it's maybe ten minutes of reading at most.

This is a great game if you want to do it while doing something else, like watching a movie or something since it's effectively turn based. It's on mobile as well so a nice time waster if you're in a doctor's waiting room or some other awful place.

The game is pretty easy to learn and can be played in quick five minute doses or for hours if you'd like. When you win, you can even do a hardcore mode for more fun.

I really liked this game.

It's a fairly short game, maybe five-ten hours of gameplay if you're trying to get all the achievements and endings but it's an interesting idea.

Basically you're the one controlling the news for a country and you're trying to decide on a few issues such as "pro-modification or natural" which is pretty much genetic engineering, pro or anti immigration, and also on police freedoms. You also are tasked with family demands (bonus points for letting you choose same sex partner) and trying to get a promotion at work to help your family. One thing I really liked was when you walk home from work, you can overhear conversations of people and see the effects of your decisions up close and personal, sometimes a little too much so. It's one thing to note that you can't really please everyone on every level so you will have to make choices one way or another.
I really liked the overhearing of conversations and the direct effects your news has not just on you but your family and you get to witness it.

Early Access Review
I love this game so much especially since I think it's an indie game by three people and it's only $10 as of when I bought it. I've already spent 30 hours playing and I've restarted a few times because I wanted to optimize my approach. What really got me was the free game on various flash sites and the playable demo which alone is around 7-10 hours depending on gameplay style.

I love the story so far, the graphics appeal to me since I'm an old school gamer (think late 80s, early 90s) where gameplay is much more important than flashy graphics wanting 160 fps. There is a story in it as well which is nice, but doesn't take away from the game if you're the sort who doesn't like reading much, but it's actually a pretty neat story. One thing I'd like to have the cutscenes as a replayable option in the menu when you unlock them. The music adds to the game and has atmosphere to it.

This is definitely a time intensive game, but because of the style, it's the type where you can also have the tv on while playing and you can hit escape to pause if real life needs happens, and because of the story, you don't need to take notes as to what you want to do. It also is more linear in terms of story which I honestly prefer because open world games just overwhelm me. If you don't like this sort of thing, you might not care for the game. An example is your starting island where you have missions and when you build the workshop or bakery or farm it places it for you and you can't remove them. For me I took it as they were the most logical places, but if you're more into freeform building, this might discourage you.

One kind of negative thing is that it does seem a bit more on the grinding side, especially since you'll be doing a lot of mining. Here's a spoiler that might make it easier for you and was why I reset a few times.

Allocate your skill points to mining first. It's tempting to go for other things, but mining will be the largest part of the early game, especially on your starting island.

In the very beginning, stay on the surface, even when you get a pickaxe. You can run back and forth and harvest from bushes, trees, and the farm and grind until you have decent mining speed. When you get the chance to tame a wolf, do that ASAP because your dog will do attacks for you on rats and boars and you earn experience and loot drops without doing much.

When you get at least three mining, then you can go after the weight and stamina restrictions. I'd try to keep them about the same if possible at least until you've pretty much exhausted the starting island, then start branching out to other skills.

I definitely recommend the game because usually I don't play games for very long and typically don't care for extended gaming sessions, but this has hooked me.

This is a very relaxing game for me. There are no time limits, no real stress, and no sense of urgency. In fact, taking your time is important with this game because it's more about planning than anything. What really sold me on the game was the soft sales approach in the first video where one of the developers says "we want you to make an informed decision" and "if you're looking for a complex game, go elsewhere" and that soft sell is what got me to spend the five dollars. The graphics aren't eye-popping, but do the job although I wish a zoom in/out function were implemented. The music is quite relaxing and subtle. The placement of the various buildings is pretty flexible and you can pack the buildings pretty tightly if you want. There is a leaderboard, but even that isn't overly competitive unless you want it to be. Overall, this is a very relaxing game.

This is a nice fairly short point and click text adventure in the style of old-school 1990s games. I got it from an indiegala bundle so it was maybe 30 cents so I can't complain about the price.

I liked the art style since it looks almost hand-drawn. The music was in keeping with the theme. The voice acting was not the best, but considering this is an indie game, it's amazing that there was any at all. The story is a bit short, but again, if you bought it here it's five bucks which is pretty much a latte at a coffee chain. For a bundle it's a bargain.

The gameplay is pretty simple and experienced puzzle gamers might find it to be less than challenging, but if you're looking for something to kill maybe an hour or two, this is a good choice. Most of the puzzles are pretty obvious and the game basically locks you out of earlier areas so that you aren't wasting time in sections of the game where you've finished which I actually like so there's no pointless backtracking. Dialogues were fairly limited and given the short playtime (I was done in less than 90 minutes even while watching a couple youtube to get past two points where I got stuck.

The one point was regarding the combination while the other was regarding the waiter with the broken bowl.

For the combination: the most obvious numbers are not it. Is there anything else with numbers in the warehouse? Don't be linear with the numbers. There are four numbers and only 16 ways it can go. The 2 and the 7 are first in that order. Play with the other four numbers.

The other was with the waiter: be chatty and talk to him again. Pick the choices that make him say take this job and shove it.

Overall, for the price it's a quick game for a lunch break or two.

This is one of the most addictive games I've ever played. The graphics aren't cutting edge 3D with millions of polygons and real time rendering, but they get the job done. It's the exploration and building that is the real joy in this game. The only caution I have is that if you start playing, you might not be able to stop.
