Outward has some good moments but they are unfortunately overshadowed by the negatives.

The game feels really empty. Not barren in an atmospheric sense, just plain empty and unfinished.

Most of my playtime was spent running. Running is a huge part of this game. You run and run and run and run. Running on foot across pretty much empty maps with very little satisfaction.
The best/worst decision you can make is to stack movement speed gear and buffs. On the bright side you spend less time mindlessly running, but the faster you run, the faster you go through what little content there actually is.

There are some inexcusable technical annoyances such as permanent mouse smoothing, hardcoded camera sensitivity scaling difference between X/Y axis, mouse sensitivity variable scaling based on framerate, just to name a few.

Fortunately; it’s a Unity game, so with a little persistence you can teach yourself how to decompile Unity games in order to directly edit the game code and manually patch some of these mistakes yourself.

Unfortunately; it’s a Unity game, so the game really struggles performance wise with the typical optimization issues you can expect from any indie Unity release.

This game would greatly benefit from being bundled with a .NET decompiler and ReShade.
