oh, cyberpunk. so much has already been said about this game's release and subsequent attempts to fix it that i feel most of it hardly needs repeating. we all know about the rough start. i finished my first playthrough on PS4 just a few months after the its initial release so i definitely experienced a lot of that frustration firsthand.

now, after two years and a second total completion of the game, i really am ecstatic about the state of cyberpunk 2077. no, it still isn't bug/glitch free (i reckon they'd basically have to start from the ground up to achieve that), but in my 125 hours of gameplay i didn't run into anything that couldn't be fixed by a quicksave and reload. so much time, effort, and love has been and is continuing to be poured into this game and it shows.

combat is really one of the last things on my mind when i'm playing a game so i couldn't rightly tell you how it holds up here in comparison to other games of its kind. i found stealth to be perfectly fine for me.

what i can confidently comment on is the game's atmosphere. from strolling through the city to cruising out in the badlands late at night, it's difficult not to find yourself completely immersed in it. there are details stuffed into every corner of the world. i didn't know cyberpunk before this game, and only because of it have i grown to truly adore the setting. the main story is tragically short but undoubtedly packs a punch. the game boasts a cast of lovable but realistically flawed characters that you can really make connections with if you want to. quests have made me laugh, shed tears, and even had my stomach churning.

despite everything it's been through, i really cannot help but recommend everyone give cyberpunk a chance. if you can't personally justify the full $60 pricetag then at least grab it when it's on sale sometime. it's such a uniquely raw experience and it's only getting better. save often and pace yourself and it'll be a great ride.
