All these years later, I keep coming back to Kerbal Space Program. It's easily my favorite game in my library, with one of the most active modding communities around. If the type of person who's always dream of being an astronaut, love engineering, and get addicted to incredibly complicated sandbox games, this is the game for you.

As a fan of many of Bethesda's previous RPG games—notably Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim—Fallout 4 manages to keep everything I've loved and improve on most of what I didn't. The short story: I love it.

To expand a bit:
* The dialog system has been improved to a style reminicent of Mass Effect and other Bioware games: the protagonist is fully voiced and the camera angle cuts and frames the participants, giving it a cinematic feel.
* The crafting system finally adds a use for all the "clutter" in the game. It seems a little bit off balance (too little Adhesive perhaps) but overall adds depth to the gameplay and better customizability to your character's equipment.
* The Settlement system satisfies my inner base-building geek. Granted, it may be a little too-much micromanagement for some people, but there's a couple of good mods out there that can help you focus on the high-level details.

Full disclosure: I'm game on a 100% Linux box, and have been using Steam's built-in Proton to play this game. Everything but the audio worked out of the box, and with a few tweaks the audio works perfectly too.
