I see the vision, combat feels good (suspiciously like a certain Triple A title). The rouge like system have more in common with Hades then Risk of Rain, that is to say it's very hard to snowball into over-poweredness but choosing the right buffs can make a slight difference in your success. If you're a rouge-like, grim-dark, 1900s guns enjoyer, this game is great. Is it worth $40 in it's current state? Probably not.

If you're looking for a game that throws you into the chaos and keeps you on the edge of your seat, Darktide nails it. The combat is fast, brutal, and just plain intense—whether you’re slicing through hordes with melee or blasting away enemies in firefights, the action never lets up. It’s some of the most adrenaline-filled gameplay I’ve come across, even rivaling the thrill of PvP shooters.

What really makes Darktide stand out is the sheer variety in builds and playstyles. I’m a huge fan of playing Psyker, where you’re a glass cannon that can dish out massive destruction with different staves, each bringing its own flavor of mayhem. And if you’re not feeling the caster role, you can always switch to guns and still dominate. The Scryer’s Gaze ability gives you this cool "rage" mechanic, which is something I’ve never seen done so well with a squishy character. Then you’ve got the Veteran, who’s a total wild card with lines like, “IF YOU CAN BREATHE, YOU CAN KILL,” which never gets old, especially when you save a teammate just in time.

Playing solo is a blast, but playing with friends? Even better. The co-op just amplifies the chaos in the best way. And honestly, the grimdark 40k setting is incredible—it’s gritty, it’s intense, and the Rejects' personalities really bring the world to life.

If you want a high-octane game where your skills are constantly put to the test and every fight feels like a battle for survival, this is the game for you. It’s challenging, it’s rewarding, and most importantly, it’s ridiculously fun.

Awesome little rouge-like bullet hell with a surprising amount of depth for a simple looking top down game.

Definitely not worth the full $20 dollars for how short it is but a good game none the less.

I'm recommending this purely because it provides closure to the stories leading up to this point in the TR series. That said somethings should be noted:
It's a console port, as far as ports go this one isn't bad but still it's apparent that the pc qol was second thought.
It's a platformer and pretty one dimensional. There's only one way to accomplish the platformer parts of the game and not a whole lot of variety; thats either something you enjoy or not but it's tedious whichever way to look at it.

Completed after I finished The Rise of The Tomb Raider since that game left wanting more. This game was pretty disappointing incomparision and would not recommend buying even if you're like me and played TROTTR already.

Hour and a half of holding W + shift, meh is how i would describe this game. Story line, gameplay, and sound track are just not that great.
