Awfully fun game! Shame it's literally broken and 99% unplayable despite ten years of updates!

The kickstarter for this game made half a million dollars, and has nothing to show for it.

Paywalls for skins, emotes, and playable dragons galore - if you didn't pay during the kickstarter or if you're not supporting on patreon, you won't have anything. You'll have to beg a member of their snobby playerbase to be nested as the color or dragon you'd like to be, which they will often refuse. Any criticism posted in the discord or in-game is threatened with mutes, bans, or other punishments. Furthermore, the official servers are strictly no-swearing "family friendly" advertised yet has an unmonitored playerbase riddled with child-preying creeps, doxxers, and cyberbullies. This game is NOT safe for any age, and especially it's demographic of young adults and teens.

The dragons are very unimaginative as well - the Wyvern and Shadow Scale are blatant bootlegs of characters from the franchise "How to Train your Dragon". The only thing that brings me back to this game at all is it's flying mechanics which carry good weight, but youll have to wait the painstaking hour and a half of your hatchling life before you're even able to take to the skies.

This dev team does not care about it's playerbase or it's product, and is only interested in your money.

Early Access Review
I will always and forever believe that all living things - humans included - are capable of change and growth. I do not believe the lead developer of this game, Predatoria, is a bad person. I only believe that he has made bad choices. I have been a dedicated member of the community since early 2022 and am now retiring this game to my Steam library because I cannot take the weight or disappointment of Predatoria's decisions anymore. I have defended his behavior time and time again and truly held out hope and love for this project, but after being let down one too many times with no change in Predatoria's attitude, communication, or game & business management, I cannot do it anymore. It has been several years of broken promises and little to no progress, and when progress did come, it was often broken and unfinished. When Predatoria was asked about said broken and unfinished progress, the community was spoken to condescendingly and given nothing but excuses. Bug fixes were often useless, patches addressing issues came few and far between, poor game balancing that seemed to get worse with every update...

This is such a beautiful project and I truly believe it has - or had - potential. However after a string of recent events, Predatoria has become unnecessarily and unforgivably cruel to even his most dedicated fans. He has such a beautiful way of expressing creative ideas and clearly has the ability to craft incredible artwork and projects, but I truly believe what is holding back Beasts of Bermuda is simply the lack of it's developers discipline. There is only one programmer - that being himself - and despite weeks upon months upon years of his community pleading on their knees to hire additional (an) additional coder(s) to help this incredible project, he has remained conservative in his ideals and incapable of taking initiative. I don't believe Predatoria can even fathom the thought of this game being fully out of Early Access, because the decisions he continues to make seem to never improve Beasts of Bermuda's chance of exiting it.

The design of this game is beautiful, the gameplay loop is perfect and intuitive, the artwork is stylized and memorable, the maps are fun and imaginative... this is truly something that has never been done before... but I simply cannot trust the development team nor it's owner to properly take care of this project anymore. This is truly my favorite PC title and one of my favorite games of all time and I'm very sad that I am taking the choice to move on from it. I have made lifelong friends here and found community like never before, but I just don't believe that Predatoria sees value in any of it, nor anything he has claimed to work so hard to create. I wish the best for Predatoria, Soals, and the rest of the management team and will continue to hope that they can make the correct decisions moving forward, just no longer in the presence of much of their long-time dedicated playerbase.

You, the reader, are most likely better off investing your time in another project or community at least as of now. There is nothing worth fighting for here.

A beautifully crafted masterpiece that is arguably way too overlooked. From unique character storylines to memorable encounters to endless routes to play, D:OS2 is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. The pre-recorded voice lines REALLY help you connect with the characters. It may be a bit difficult for newer players, but it's beyond satisfying when you push through a challenging area or boss fight-- it's a genuinely rewarding adventure! I found myself bonding with a lot of the characters who tagged along with me.

A beautifully crafted virtual board game that's easy to get addicted to! I love the art style and themes of the art and music. Planning to buy a physical copy of the actual board game soon as well!
