I went in with the expectation the only function this would provide was starting the game thru Steam, and that's what I got, so I literally can't complain.

To anyone who bought this game for the first time thru Steam, I'm really sorry cuz that sucks, but to anyone who bought it when they already owned it thru Battlestate, none of whats happened with the launch of 1.0 should have been a surprise based on what was communicated prior and with BSG's prior history with major patches.

The Beta is dead, long live the Beta.

Outfit is cool, along with new cosmetics, but the homeworld itself massively drops my frames like nowhere else in the game.
Makes the homeworld not really useful as a home base if your game runs poorly everytime you visit.

I'll update once the world gets an extra optimization pass.

I've only played 7 hours so far, but this feels like a mixture between looting/crafting survival games such as Valheim, and the story driven nature of its most obvious inspiration, Half-Life. Genuinely very fun combat, a unique goofy vibe in the downtime with all the intensity when it hits the fan.
Oh, and the Composers. My pants shall never recover.

Also yea the game is pretty cool I guess, just experiment and try things out, you can get pretty much anywhere with enough practice
