If you don't mind never finishing the "tutorial" stage, it's a decent Pokemon riff. But the mandatory dojos become increasingly arbitrary and annoying "puzzle" maps. I finally gave up at NeoEdo, because you can emerge into a room and INSTANTLY hit the "back to start" beams because you can't see where they'll be when you arrive and have zero time to dodge. There's puzzles, and then there's "we hate the players." (I'd consider continuing to work on my other missions instead, but almost all of them are either impossible to complete without finishing the NeoEdo gym, or would require dozens or hundreds of hours of grinding up 'Tems because the missions assume you'll finish them Later, once the story mission is over and you can just catch higher level stuff for your party.)

If your preferred way of playing MMOs is to solo everything or do pick up raids ("Fleet Actions"), then you might enjoy this game. It looks pretty good for a game its age, and it has a lot of lore expansion. But it's VERY MUCH NOT a game for playing with a group. The missions are so incredibly broken when it comes to more than one player at a time...in a given session, at least one person on the team is likely to not get a mission complete, forcing everyone to go through it again. And as soon as anyone clicks next on an NPC, everyone gets advanced, so really only one person gets to interact with the story anyway.

The primary game play loop is pretty fun. You're an Immortal with access to vast powers (but not true flight, since that would keep them from using knee-high walls to block progress, plus water deeper than your knees automatically kills you), and you can earn every class through play if you're persistent. But once you're through the main storyline, it's just grinding the same few dozen missions over and over and over again. It's a decent time-waster in that regard, and if "repeated raids to improve gear" or repeated PVP matches are your thing, you'll still enjoy this game. But in many regards, it barely counts as an MMO.

Aesthetically, it's decent, although all women have breasts that bounce as if their clothing is massless, which you may find a plus or a minus (there's a handful of armored costumes that will prevent the gainaxing, but clearly immortals have never discovered sports bra technology).

My high hour count comes mostly from the fact that I'm in a bit of a dry spell in terms of new games that I find any better. I've gotten to the power level that I can just sort of cruise through most of the content in literal god mode as long as I don't play too much each week (and my work schedule guarantees some off days to recover divine power). It's like lukewarm pizza...it'll do when nothing better is around, and I haven't gotten completely sick of it.

You would think that a game with no threats and soothing music and art would be relaxing, but after the first few stages the platforming and puzzles got my heartrate up more than most games. Sure, there's never a "you're hosed" moment that requires restarting, but "Gah, I gotta go through that whole thing AGAIN!" is enough penalty for failure. :)

Posting this after playing through to the end, but with only 6/17 achievements...so I clearly missed a bunch of stuff (I could even see things I couldn't get to and incorrectly assumed I'd double back for them), but once you finish it the first time you do get to go back and replay if you're a cheevo-hunter.

Couldn't even get through the tutorial, too annoying.
I stopped twice to apply .ini edits to compensate for "Oh, no one will ever want to do that" deficiencies in the options (specifically, to invert the y-axis on the mouse, and to make UI text large enough to actually read), and then I found that the incessant auction house notifications can not be turned off, nor can they be moved out of the center of the screen. That was basically a dealbreaker, too much hostile UI. Didn't even get into the combat part of the tutorial before I was annoyed right off the game and deleted it.

Well, what little I was able to play seemed promising, but after leaving the tutorial I started getting hit by system freezes every few minutes. I suppose I'll have to wait until I buy a new computer before I can play this in longer than ten minute chunks.

Still refuses to play in anything but full screen, and the new characters die really quickly. This may be intentional, but still annoying.
