It's good fun and decent support going forwards.

Missions can get a bit samey but unlocks are fun, weapon balancing is in a good place atm and they're still fleshing out the new faction (the Illuminate).

If you aren't trying to trying over a mountain in a recon jeep with your friend in the gunner seat or jet packing away from a 500KG bomb your mate threw by accident, you're doing it wrong.

Fun little Simulator game where you roleplay an addict who must maintain a successful business to fund his addiction.

I *will* finish my Pokemo-*AHEM* Tetramon collection!

Launch was rough but now quite fun with decent quality of life improvements over previous entries in the franchise.

Only thing missing is more battlegroups/maps.

(P.S. I haven't touched singleplayer whatsoever, this isn't the review for that.)

Best £8.50 I've spent in a while on Steam.

Adrenaline spikes when you're sat in the dark with a dying flashlight trying to maintain eye contact with two SCP-173 knock offs and then hearing something nasty behind you. Meanwhile all your friends are dead and laughing in the afterlife.

Looks like the modding scene are moving in too. Well worth a go with friends.

It's incredibly satisfying climbing in the catapult because the most dangerous thing your team can launch at the enemy is an idiot in a steel can.

Or decapitating someone, picking up their head and throwing it back at them when they respawn.

if you played Chiv1 it's the same game with less exploits, a newer engine and now you can yeet everything you can get your hands on. Inlcuding flaming chickens and fish from the well.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a masterclass in how to lose your audience whilst chasing a mystical new audience you don't yet have a foothold with. The new decision makers they've hired from 343 and Activision have brought in sweeping changes that frankly haven't improved the situation.

Biggest issue by a mile is the UI. I played a lot of MW2 (2022) and MW3 on PC and the UI is somehow worse than CoD. The old UI wasn't great either but this is abysmal. Interaction is designed for an analog stick and buttons, not a mouse. Things are in confusing places and nothing is intuitive. For some reason half the time when I end a match it takes me back to the Buy Battlepass window. Sheeesh.

Performance is.... perplexing. Played 4 games and crashed twice. Running a 5600X/3070 on a fairly new SSD - so not amazing but not like I'm running outdated hardware. My FPS is about 40fps lower on average even after tweaking and the only thing I would say is graphically superior is water effects. So either they spent the resources on things I don't notice or the engine is even more horribly optimised after the upgrade. Even enabling DLSS and setting it to performance did very little to help this issue. Oh and weapon model pop is now a thing.

Bear in mind, I've bought a lot of the skins for this game over time. I'd come back each event, buy the battlepass and grind the event until it was finished. It was fun but I'm unlikely to be continuing on with this farce for the foreseeable future. If this happens I'll come back and take this review down... but I can't bring myself to flail about with the menus anymore.

Dark Souls Lite meets the survival games genre with multiplayer.

Had lots of fun building. Less fun after arrow nerfs. And will pick up again when they release the rest of the bosses to kill.

Had a long playthrough and my take... game plays like Fallout:NV by way of the Unreal Engine 4 with hints of Mass Effect.

Things I loved:
-Combat. Satisfying guns, melee is fun and the science weapons can be a giggle.
-Story is a blast, some decent characters and the theme of the world is quite fun.
-Graphically pleasing.
-Exploring the worlds and dialogue.
-Played 50.5 hours and didn't crash once or experience any game breaking glitches that required a reload. Compared to my experiences of every Gamebryo-based game I've played, this was refreshing.

Downsides:
-Perks were not designed all that well. Felt like they had been optimised for balance and not all that fun. In a singleplayer game, just give me the fun please!
-Having to wait for a year to play it on a platform that has achievements and a long term future!

This game won't be for everyone but I absolutely loved it. The most memorable game I've enjoyed in 2020.
It's essentially an interactive SciFi thriller from the same vein as Moon or 2001 AD. Make sure not to read any spoilers because that's the best part for me.

Also, I highly recommend you use a controller if you have one. I played most of the game with a mouse and keyboard but there are 2 puzzles in the game that are bloody impossible with keyboard controls - I suspect this game was designed with analogue sticks being their preferred play style.
