Great game, the combat update is enjoyable despite what other reviewers claim. It is a change for sure but the game feels more approachable for new-comers and longtime vets can still excel to a high degree. There is less of a gap now between someone who has 50hrs in to someone with over 1k hrs. One of the more friendly and enjoyable communities within a FPS that I have experienced in the 25+ years that I have been playing this genre of game. Expect team work / collaboration as well as communication when you join a random squad on a team with your potentially 8 other squad mates.

Great game to kill some time and try out a multiple of different play-sets, outcomes, and experiences. DLC is not required but some are worthwhile if you are playing within that area of the map.

♥♥♥♥ Game, ♥♥♥♥ Dev Team. Essentially a cash grab, avoid at all costs and try other ARPGs like Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, so on...

Great Game in a near fully polished state (currently in Act 2). Get this if you're a fan of Divinity Original Sin, Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity, etc.

Single player only and I doubt they have any plans for a co-op addon or mod. Great mod community support though, so expect additional classes and other options to become available to be explored, created by the community.

This game fulfills many D&D and Fantasy desires you might have with the extensive race+class and mythic combinations. Currently I am playing as a Death Knight (Magus - Eldritch Scion) of sorts on the path to become a Lich. I have some undead companions, some of my current living companions might be able to be killed and brought back as undead companions. My Death knight currently specializes in 1h weapons with his other hand used to cast spells that summon the undead, while shattering the bones and minds of its enemies.

Check it out!

One of my most enjoyed single player RPG games in a long while. The story is a bit open ended and might be hard to get into at first. The game does seem a lot larger than it is at first, but the dlc is a great addition and the content that is there is worth the price of the game +dlc.

Early Access Review
Really enjoying this game. I like that it doesn't hold your hand and you are able to discover some unique things about this game along the way. I did read that they are releasing a tutorial soon, so that should help those that don't like to figure out the mechanics on their own.

The guns feel really unique from one another, I am noticing some lite-rpg elements to the game like being able to get upgrades for your items, attacks, and traps. This making each play-through a new unique experience or you can work on perfecting your build/playstyle of choice.

The tower defense part of the game is very interesting, I am wondering what kind of creative traps, map layouts, and manned turrets/vehicles/weapons of some sort, that the dev team will release to the game. They clearly laid out the roadmap and are very active with the community on steam and off on other platforms like discord. One of a few early access games that I have been involved in that the dev team actually communicates with the fans and player base of their game.

A must try if you enjoy roguelike dungeon crawlers, tower defense games, and shoot'em ups.

**I will update this review as the game progresses through early access to full release.

Just like those TwinStick shooters you played at the arcade as a kid. Very challenging and fun. The way the maps played out reminded me a bit of the levels in Hotline Miami 1 or 2. Where the timing of your actions and your position is key.

As someone who grew up playing a lot of console and pc games from the 80s and 90s. Hotline Miami 1 and 2 brought back a lot of nostalgia with the difficulty, level design, mechanics and graphical style.

I adore the series, the art direction and soundtrack help with the immersion.

Hotline Miami 2 should be played after the first Hotline Miami imo. Just for the stories sake, which I thoroughly enjoyed. As it is fairly dark and with many adult themes, it may not be for everyone. A few story elements may stick with you for a while; which I attribute as a positive.

Using a gamepad is a must. I used a standard Xbox controller.

It may be a bit tough at first. But stick with it, once you learn the mechanics it will be a breeze. Make use of the mechanics, the pathing, luring...etc.
