this game was a delightful experience. it struck me as similar to A Short Hike (difficulty/dialogue/cuteness/incredible soundtrack), BOTW (creature compendium) and Celeste (character design/character voices/nebulous vibe), but it was unique in its gameplay, achievements, and logic. a Pro Gamer could probably 100% it in less time than i did, but i was too enamored by the honking mechanic to speed up.

pros:
-you can honk
-tato
-easy enough to be casual but challenging enough to keep my interest
-some backtracking, but not enough to be tedious (and there would probably be less if you were more methodical)
-all pets in the game can be petted
-emotionally investing, with a nice little heartwarming ending (good for softies like me)

cons:
-the creature compendium mechanic was a little finicky. (mild con! and i believe it is being addressed in the next update)

i don't usually post reviews but i need to do better at hyping the things that make me happy. TOEM made me very happy--it struck a chord for me, and i do recommend it in case it might do the same for you! (~:
